The last I've seen of this lawsuit is the article by Paul Gift: http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2016/1/2...-files-answer-denying-fighter-claims-mma-news

Are there any updates on this? In light of the Conor news, and it reminding me of negotiation issues for fighters in general, I wanted to know where the lawsuit stands as of today. Also, there is a quote in this article that I was hoping if there are any law savvy people who can explain:

'Paragraph 29

The UFC objects to the allegation that it is currently valued in excess of $2 billion, "for lack of knowledge." '

If I am reading this right, and I know I might not be, but isn't this saying that the UFC is denying that it is valued in excess of $2 billion? How can a business claim that it doesn't know it's own value?

EDIT: Quoting quotes is hard.

wasn't that whole thing about fighters complaining that they didn't get paid enough but calling UFC a monopoly for being able to pay more than any other organization?

The lawsuit has several parts to it, but I think it's essentially that UFC owns most of the market so there isn't really much negotiation since UFC controls the price point. But the monopoly or monopsony part is about how the UFC took out their only legitimate contenders and making the fighter marketplace less fair. Or something like that.
