The only difference between him and other fighters in the past who have developed a cracked chin, is that history hasn't run its course yet where he ends his time in MMA with the inevitable string of early round finishes before retiring like Chuck/ JDS, etc.

Hill and Jiri are no better strikers than Rountree, and yet they were +100 against Pereira in what was guaranteed to be a striking match. If you don't think Rountree being priced at +400 is then too long, then you don't really understand how odds work. This man is not unbeatable on the feet, he lost 5 of the 7 rounds against Adesanya.

Bro even in the first fight, he almost got slept the same exact way at the end of round 1.

And from rounds 2-4 , he couldn’t even land a single clean punch on Adesanya.

Then at the end of the fight he lands this flukey punch that Adesanya didn’t expect.

Adesanya was cruising to a easy decision win and let his guard down

Izzy has 16 kos and 8 decisions, how he is feather fisted? his dec wins are all against good chin fighters at mw.

you're talking about his performance against the mw champ while ignoring Rountree performances against bum level fighters.

Rountree only has a 1.5 round of cardio, he was getting pieced up by Jacoby, his boxing punches are loopy and sets his punches very low.

Izzy is 6'4 and Alex is the same height, it allowed Izzy to throw the straight punch at eye level. Roundtree is 6'1 and his punches come from low angles, he doesn't have a slick straight punch like Izzy, you're comparing two completely different levels of athletes.

Adesanya was also a world class striker who arguably beat him in kickboxing. How is this relevant to Rountree?

Rountree is live early until Pereira gets his timing because he is aggressive and powerful, but if you want to play him you might as well play KO1 because how else is he getting it done?
 
Pereira has a glass chin, even Joe Pyfer recognised it when he appeared on Joe Rogan experience

I wouldn't even take issue about the bet on Rountree if he said it was a ko1 or bust. Alex stamina is far better, and he's lot better at throwing other weapons like elbows and knees. The longer the fight goes, Perreira is likelier to win. Rountree has maybe 6 mins tops before he gasses.
 
Since he moved to Thailand he's developed the machine cardio that is typical in many muay thai fighters

Rountree is 2-3 going into score cards, Oleksiejczuk, Prachnio, Sanchez. Both izzy and Alex ko those three guys or beat them in dominating fashion.

and 1 of Rountree's 2 wins was a robbery win split.

Every indicator suggest he will lose if he fails in round 1.

Alex is dec winning against Jan who is better than all of them.

he loss that fight, his defense is bad, cashout if you bet Ml, switch to r1 ko, that is all the handicapping you need.

that is his only chance.

He was a bum 10 years ago, I ain't betting on the dude that lost to Andrew Sanchez, he is a lot better than that now. If he wasn't then there is no way I'd be betting on him

The split to Jacoby was only two years ago and 90% of media scores had that for Jacoby.

if you watch the way he gets koed , it looks very low level. He got koed out by a very predictable elbow in the clinch, leaving his chin exposed.

He got taken down by Ion and was ground and pounded easily and the ref came in to safe him, which shows that he has a weak recovery and heart/grind.

If a guy was a bum 10 years ago it means his trajectory and ceiling is lower at his prime level.

He was beaten at the weigh in in the Cutelaba fight, I think he's mentally tougher now but Poatan is an intimidating guy.

There is no recent empirical data to suggest he struggles in round 2, or even really round 3 for that matter
 
I'd be very surprised if Khalil beats Alex.

He's definitely improved a lot from his early days and no doubt a big part of that is training in Thailand but I think it's a big step down in level for Alex for the most part - Hill aside. He's generally faced elite fighters and again, Hill aside, I'd say they are all better strikers than Khalil.

I think the chinny accusations are a bit overstated too. He's not really looked in too much trouble other than against Israel who is a very high level striker - he doesn't have loads of one punch power but it was just a beautiful counter that would have put most out. I don't think Khalil has nuclear levels of power either, albeit he clearly has power. Alex hasn't faced huge hitters but he got through Jiri twice without much trouble. Jan isn't a huge hitter but does pack some power and he couldn't do too much. I also think Alex has a better chin at LHW with him not draining himself with the weight cut.

Khalils wins aren't particularly great either. Smith is a decent but not spectacular win and was KOed for the 11th time in his career - almost as many times as Khalil has won a fight and a few more fights than Alex has has had in the UFC. Daukaus is the definition of chinny and not a high level fighter. Jacoby he realistically lost too (majority of the press scored it Jacoby) who is a much lower level kick boxer than Alex. Roberson is the definition of a journeyman, Bukauskas was able to take clean shots from Khalil early on, they obviously hurt him but he wasn't really on the verge of going out. He was losing the fight but was able to get himself back in it a bit after the first 2 minutes when Khalil started to slow, was a nice move to finish it with the oblique kick but also not something that he's going to be finishing Alex with - Alex is a much better fighter than Bukauskas. Prachino is quite chinny and he lost a decision to him. It's a decent little streak but it's also for the most part against a much lower level of opposition whereas Alex has been fighting elite fighters and not really in much trouble from them.

It's MMA and LHW so you can't rule out a KO but I think it's Khalils only path, and likely only really in the first part of the fight, specifically the first few minutes of the first round. If you're betting Khalil the round 1 and round 2 props are quite juicy and the best way to play it. Alex ML and Alex by KO isn't particularly playable at these odds but u1.5 rounds looks very playable - it covers you with Khalil given that's the main danger moments for him, if he's not KOed Alex by then he's not likely going to. Alex is obviously an aggressive fighter too and you have to imagine is going to be landing during that time. Under 2.5 or fight doesn't start r3 is probably a much safer bet and still playable for a fight that more often than not won't be going up to 15 minutes. Khalil has a tendency to fire back if he gets hit, even if it's just a jab he tends to answer in return so realistically there's going to be a lot of opportunities and we're unlikely to see a staring contest.

Im going to be honest. Im not that surpeised if Khalil lands the KO. But Im not giving it enough chance to bet on him. Well not by much anyway.
