Volk has had a good run but I'm getting tired of him. Hope Yair knocks him out

to take someones belt you should have to clearly be the winner, I don't think that's the case, pantoja was just using moreno's back as a safety zone, did no damage there whatsoever

If that's the case, Volk beat Islam too...

forget all the other rounds, but round 5, i think its pure robbery to give this round to Pantoja....For what? Because he was hanging on for dear life on Moreno's back? I think its a horrible way to score round 5 where Moreno was destroying Pantoja on the feet for majority of that round before a stalemate where literally nothing happened...

Ive said this more and more in recent events where im noticing judges are falling back into the "pillow wrestling" phase from GSP days, where a single takedown or any grappling whats so ever instantly overrides anything else leading up to the grappling...which is just stupid...

In round 5, Moreno clearly was the aggressor for those who count that as 1 of the criteria, Moreno clearly did the most damage in that round, and clearly landed the best power shots of the round before the eventual stalemate, so how does Pantoja get that round? based off of what? He isnt in control of that position, that position is a stalemate, Pantoja has to hang on or he is going to fall down if he tries anything significant, how is that position scoring that much to override everything else that happened in that round for 3 and a half minutes?

Im not going to say who should have won or who i thought won cuz its not about that for this thread, but im more shocked at how people are giving these rounds away at any sign of grappling just instantly ignoring anything that happened for majority of the round just a few seconds or minutes prior, wild to me.

Go watch kickboxing you idiot

That would make some sense if Pantoja's grappling was damaging or progressed in any way. All he did was lay and pray, and that's not MMA, that's stalling. So, no, I'll continue to argue that scoring lay and pray as points is laughable.

When the ref let him sit on his back without any effort to improve the fight was over and he won by stalling. He did good work to win one and three tho.
Terrific fight for three rds but he did stall all rd 4 and most of 5 for the win. That's the 10pt system at work so good for him

I agree. He got his back and just sat there. How can the judges score that when Moreno already landed more damage in the round.

Even the 6 takedowns, 3 were reversed and the only ground and pound from either fighter was when Moreno reversed the position and postured up to deal actual damage.

This one should be a technical masterpiece. Can’t wait.

I love mexican fighters because theyre always full of heart and grit but these guys have the absolutely worst walkout music in the history of worst walkout music.

Nothing worse for your heart than an unexpected parlay being active until the final fight... best of luck to you lol
Good luck, bud
i was not prepared for this when i took the second hit of acid.

fortunately it’s only a chump change fiver on the line, but i never expected to be here w/ my shits & giggles underdogs parlay

i mean theres nothing to argue. you said south africa is predominantly when in reality they only make up 7 percent of the population
You're not wrong entirely wrong about the current population, and I openly concede to that. Izzy's mindset precedes that. I'm from the US, and slavery was abolished in 1863; talk to me about how racism is no longer a factor.

I totally acknowledge that my statement about the current population was incorrect; the overall point of my OP is not affected by that.

Should Izzy have went sideways the way he did? Fuck no... In our opinions. Were his feelings wrong? That's obviously not for you and I to decide.

You're response told me that we're both white, and not from Africa. Let's just watch and appreciate the fight we're given Sherbro.

The history stands, and from what I just saw, it's still a huge fucking factor.

Worst case scenario, they respect each other more after the fight, and we get a fight that both fighters are emotionally invested in.
