Rumored UFC 278 reportedly sold 360k PPV buys worldwide.

Unless I'm mistaken tbe numbers recently have been a lot better on average than they were a few years ago.

Edit: all the super recent events have apparently done around 400k ppv buys.. That suggests nobody headlining is a big star right now but those numbers are amazing compared to a few years ago.

Before there were big numbers being put out by cards headlined by Jones, Conor, Rousey etc.. but the cards that weren't headlined by superstars were doing well under 200k. DJ cards barely did over 100k ppv buys.

That's actually a pretty good number better than I expected.

He's called Marty Snoozman for a reason and to be honest the rest of the card other than the Costa v Rockhold was underwhelming. Definitely not a card worth $75

They're getting most of their revenues from other sources right now.

You can see the trend until 2015/2018 here :

That being said, it's obvious to me that the UFC is not as strongly established as many other brands, hence why their obsession with Conor is so strong lol.

We've already seen failure from similar organizations.

The last one really struggling currently being the Glory Kickboxing.

Drop that price and more people will buy it. 75? Ugh.
I wish I knew the numbers on how much they could sell if they lowered the price significantly. I also can't remember the name of the formula to save my life. Lower price/higher volume vs higher price/lower volume.

Yeah they definitely are making Leon/Mas
I kinda hope so.
I do agree Masvidal has not earned it at all...... But since when did UFC care too much about who earned it?

I know Usman wants an immediate rematch in Jan or Feb...... but a Masvidal vs León fight before that is BOUND to generate big PPVs and publicity and plenty of stupid shit and that's really all the UFC care about.

I'd say it's 50/50 if Masvidal gets a shot at Leon before Usman. It WILL piss off Usman but I don't think the UFC cares too much about fighter sentiments.

Considering the card wasn't stacked, and that Leon wouldn't be an interesting challenger to the casual masses that's not bad actually. Didn't make enormous money, but the card should turn a reasonable profit.

They should aim to maximise revenue by adjusting price. Maybe they can have an early bird price, and then base the final price on early bird sales?

pretty bad. really on the low end by ufc standards. a medium level event would do 500kish so usman who is supposed to be a top champ and thinks he's a draw doing 360k is not good. it is the absolute minimum number of buys you would expect from a UFC branded event with semi decent fighters. so actually zero drawing done by usman done with this PPV. only thing that would do worse is a WMMA headlined card with total junk on it

That’s a random fan made Twitter account with no credibility and just over 6,000 followers. I would say it’s shocking you guys buy into this but who am I kidding, Sherdoggers are gullible.

For real, same people who look at those mmamanifesto fake payouts and make threads about it and believe it.
