Alright bois i have gone deep into this one since my state is in stage 4 lockdown and I'm housebound for 6 weeks.
Yoder V Souza: Watched the last 5 fights from Yoder, last 6 for Souza. Half way through the Yoder tape I am thinking to my self what did ol'mate
@Sadistics see to trust Yoder with a huge play. Near the end of taping I started to see some improvement. Kondo fight I ignored she shouldn't be in UFC, but I strongly believe she should have won the Markos fight. Markos is underated, always has been. Then I got into Souza tape. I was even less impressed. These are my takeaways for both.
Yoder has a mean left down the pipe from her southpaw stance. She has a big reach and its her most eye catching shot when she gets aggressive and lands clean. Dropped Dern with it. She has no head-movement though and stands upright eating punches all day long. I believe thats what lost her the Markos fight. Her strength seems to lie in the clinch, and she has improved her top quite a bit. Used to scramble and give up top position all the time for weak positions that led to nothing. Mixes up shots and clinch throws.
Souza is very small for the weight class, cuts no weigh. Horrible gas tank, seems to slow down by second round and then has a horrible habit of backing up against cage and covering up and eating shots. She also pulls guard for a guillotine that hasn't worked on anyone in the 6 fights I watched. She has a nice level change shot that gets everyone down, and I don't think Yoder will be able to stop this either as she stands too upright. This same shot becomes super telegraphed and sloppy and much easier to defend once gassed. In the standup she pretty much just wings overhand rights. Souza has decent jits, but its nothing crazy. I am not worried about her subbing Yoder.
The advantages for Yoder seem to be the reach, size, gastank and maybe even IQ lol. If this fight stays mostly in clinch, I think Yoder can gas Souza out, but I still see it as a sweat. I do have 2u on it so fk it we let it roll.
