Yeah. I'm tempted to put a u or 2 on the u4.5, since I have a feeling that it's going to be a fight in which the losing party looks /terrible/... but I'm not sure who it's going to be.
You think gsp has a legit shot at a finish here? I mean its mma anything can happen. But i would be shocked relatively speaking if gsp finishes bisping here

Bisping is far from the best middleweight on the planet, but he is also nowhere near being "complete trash". He's a top 5ish talent in a division that is 15 lbs above the one that GSP competed in. He has decent takedown defence, above average striking and pushes a steady pace to go along with the height & reach advantage he will enjoy in this matchup. Throw in GSP's layoff, injuries, USADA, last performance... and it's not hard to see why people are leaning Bisping as a dog.

Look at the UFC MW rankings. Bisping is not a top 5 MW. The only fighter I'd take him over in the current top 10 is Anderson Silva, and that'd come down to whether 'I'm only here for a highlight reel KO' Silva attended or one with a modicum of interest in winning a decision.

I agree Bisping hasn’t had many good wins but gsp wasn’t exactly coming off a impressive performance Against Hendricks plus he’s coming off that layoff and moving up a weight class.

1) Hendricks was a super strong wrestler, which is worse matchup for GSP

2) Hendricks had a win vs Lawler which is more impressive than any complete fight by Bisping

3) GSP already said he was going to retire before Hendricks fight-- may not have had the passion in training

4) GSPs prior decisions were all very comfortable. Dude is custom built for 5 round wins

He's basically decent at a few things and thats it. He was never great at anything and hes well past his prime at 38. Also loves to drink which isnt good for aging.

I'd make him dog vs at least 10 MWs. He may seem like top 5 bc of recent wins, but if his last 3 decisions were road losses instead of home wins you would all think hes washed and not top 15
You seem to know a lot about Bisping for a new fan of the sport. How did you find the time to watch all 29 of his fights in just a few weeks?

I don't want any part of Dillashaw vs Garbrandt anymore

I still think Dillashaw's odds hold value but it's just one of those fights thats so hard to predict. I can't bet Dillashaw with confidence and I need confidence so it's a pass. Make profits not predictions, stop guessing start winning.

Yeah bisping isn’t great but how the fuck can anyone be confident backing GSP after a 4 year lay off
In my case, I listen to the things he says, and I believe him (don't laugh.) He always said he would need a lot of time to put on sufficient useful weight to fight at MW and he's had that time. He was also burnt right out and so I think the rest from the pressures of defending the title has been a huge help to him, not a hindrance. I guess we'll see come fight time.

Sorry if you mentioned it earlier but who are you on this event?

So, I'm no betting expert, for sure. This thread is good info. What do you think of a JJ @ +165 for u3 1/2?

Because unlike you I rock at processing information and am elite at finding shortcuts.

I hope u realize that you are merely complimenting me for being a elite learner

What excuse are you, a new fan who's only been watching the sport for a few weeks, going to make up for GSP looking clearly regressed in the Diaz fight too?

Instead, I think we'll see about 85-90% of prime GSP performance.
We didn't even see 90% of prime GSP performance in his last few fights. 4 years ago. Pre USADA. In a different era of the sport.

Jessamyn Duke vs Peggy Morgan was on the main card of a UFC event since GSP last fought.

Yeah seems like a dog or pass situation here. I guess if you are confident that Cody is a master of distance gauging and has the hand speed + power to really tag TJ a lot (leaning that way), then maybe a Cody ITD play. Otherwise I think I'm going to just enjoy

And I get it, 4 years is a long time and you are all extremely shook by it. So I don't want to debate that point ad nauseum.

The point I'm more interested in-- is there a single shred of evidence that Bisping isn't complete trash? All anybody wants to talk about is 4 years, aliens, injuries. Somebody please address the fact that Bisping is a 38 year old who fucking sucked in his prime.

And in the last fight he wasn't even better than gassed 46 year old Hendo. That es un problemo

jesus you make so many dumb post.. for a guy hwo only watched mma for a short time its unreal how much you think you know about this sport.. Bisping beat Rockhold,Silva,Hendo lately sure some close decisions but he still beat some of the top fighters ever in ufc and still you think he is garbage?

Of course not fighting in four years matters jesus christ. It's fuckin huge!! What has he been doing the past four years to what extent has he been training, all this talk of missing time, surgeries, fighting up a weight class after not fighting for four years, post USADA. There are sooo many question marks and a lot of them if not all of them relate to his four year absence.
And about 90% of that is wolf tickets. He says he never stopped training the whole time he was away. I think he learned a lot in that time.

He won all 5 rounds and was still more dominant than Bisping has been in his entire life

I'm sorry bro. I know you're a big fan of GSP but, like most fighters, the man is delusional. Of course he's going to tell himself he's a better version than he was in his prime, but anyone with common sense knows that's BS. He can't even hit pads without looking stiff anymore.
