" UFC 160: Why Hunt vs. Dos Santos Was the Best Match in UFC Heavyweight History "

I loved that fight. two absolute SHARKS at striking going into the cage and we get one of the most technical yet spectacular fights in heavyweight history.

If people think that was the best HW fight we're seen in the UFC history they need to watch a little closer.

The fight was boring in places; Hunt looked gassed early and didn't do anything, relying on wild swinging punches which rarely connected, his slow reflexes meant he didn't string together any combos or react to when JDS was backed against the cage, it was a massive disappointment.

Agreed that the fight wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be.

Hunt didn't have anything for JDS.

Nog vs. Randy was way better.

Easily the best HW fight I've seen in a while. I have to watch Randy/Nog again because i remember it as a one sided beating by Nog and I have a suspicion that people are ranking it higher because the "Pride fighter" won.

A lot of it is over-glorifying moments to be more than reactions. JDS said himself he decided to try it out.

It's his opinion, mine is that better HW fights have happened. Fights like Barnett/Rizzo and Randy/Randleman (awesome comeback fight), and also that battle of toughness and endurance between Ruas and Varelans. Royce/Kimo was a fun one as well. JDS/Hunt was great, though.

This fight's excitement level gets grossly overrated due to the "holy shit" factor. Aside from the first 30 seconds, the rest of the fight was pretty dull.

People rarely separate hype from reality on these boards and I was a huge Couture fan.

Nog vs Couture

Yes ... I loved that fight.

I wish it was 5 rounds though. That is what killed it.

It was extremely technical. Like watching two masters dueling it out standing and on the ground. Simply amazing match. Both were winners in my book.

The fight was incredibly sick and tense. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, and also paying close attention to their technical work. It was awesome. One of the best fights I've watched.

Was rooting for Randy and not a Pride fanboy here.

I thought it was an awesome fight and while Nog clearly won ... Randy gave him a fight the entire way through.

That is why it was awesome. If Nog destroyed Randy ... then it would have been cool for Pride fanboys ... but not remembered as a great fight that it was.

Strongly disagree this math was borderline boring as hell, the best Heavyweight match in UFC history is Big Nog vs Randy Couture no doubt.

Besides, I can come into your presupposed gym and tell your coach that boxers should keep their hands up and practice cardio which has merit so you see why your coach saying the same for Jack Slacks is not proof of his authority on striking and why we can't question his journalism.

I don't think you'd like my gym.

You seem more of a Planet Fitness type.
