Economy U.S. Billionaires Got $1 Trillion Richer During Trump’s Term

Is wealth inequality a serious problem that we need to tackle as a society?

I disagree with that last part of your sentence.
Biden is a center-right corporatist. You've got a center-right corporate party representing the left and a far-right party representing the right. We're not turning socialist anytime soon. We can't even get the basic social democratic benefits that every other developed nation has had for decades like universal health care. Biden has heavily indicated that he would veto Medicare for All if it passes the House, which is highly unlikely in and of itself to begin with.

Biden is not going to be "in charge" for long (if he is "in charge" for long at all). He won't last a full four year term.

Um, you might want to check your math there, big guy.

Yeah, it's not the best way to look at the issue. But there has been upward redistribution, and that does IMO represent a policy failure.

Derp yea, the downfall of posting off of the phone.

Regardless, for people to increase their net worth by 5 billion per person for some of these guys is droplets in the bucket. If Amazon increases by ~2-3% Bezos picks that up.

I am sure he controls the lion’s share of this increase.

This is a fair and fact-based point that I have not lost sight of. Like I said in the OP, Trump is the symptom rather than the disease. More corporate/partisan Democrats often don't realize that or pretend it is not the case. While I voted for Biden, I do realize that he represents a return to a status quo that wasn't working for ordinary Americans. But it is better than the alternative.
Return to normalcy is a fun campaign and all but it will be anything but normalcy. The government isn't here to save you and People need to accept that before things get better.

Just noticed your location. Would you really trade in your healthcare system for ours?

Absoloutly not. Lol there things about life in Canada I wouldn't trade for anything. We have our own leadership issues here too. Same problem, more people vote for who they don't hate as much rather then somebody they believe in because the alternatives are so bad and there really is nobody.

It's not their fault everyone spent their stimulus check on an iPhone.

People are fucking dumb. It's not the governments job to babysit the average idiot.

Voting for biden isn't gonna fix what you perceive as a problem.

Didn't Hillary have 6 months to live back in 2016? What happened?
I never heard that. Hillary didn't have Nancy Pooploosey creating legislation to remove Hillary from office later because she could barely form a sentence without a teleprompter or a bug in her ear.

63% of that 1 trillion was gained during the covid-19 lockdowns + fallout from the CARES act. Trump's economic policy has been standard fare Republican upward transfer of wealth, but his numbers are juiced by throwing in the covid-19 lockdowns. He didn't propose the lockdowns, he didn't propose the CARES act; the House's lone dissenter was Thomas Massie. It's something they should all have to eat as they sold out the electorate they promised to champion, but instead is going to pinned on one boogeyman.

So this is a positive for trump?

Liberals have the stupidest way of looking at things.

Let me steal other peoples money to solve all my problems.
