IGN can exclusively reveal the new poster for Twisted Metal (seen below), which is officially described as “a high-octane action comedy” starring Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz. The first teaser trailer for Twisted Metal debuts online tomorrow, Thursday the 27th.

Though inspired by the classic PlayStation game series, the show is based on an original take by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland) and written by Michael Jonathan Smith (Cobra Kai).
According to the official synopsis, Twisted Metal follows “a motor-mouthed outsider [who is] offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.”

In addition to Mackie and Beatriz, Twisted Metal’s castincludes Joe Seanoa (AEW), Will Arnett (Arrested Development), and Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man: No Way Home).
This could turn out really bad but I’ll definitely watch it for the nostalgia

Samoa Joe at the end there

So basically someone at Peacock wants something similar to Guardians, got everything developed and whatnot, then found a random franchise to license and paint over what they had developed. Not excited about it being an “action comedy” but may give it a go for Mackie.

If they make it a dark comedy it could definitely work. I'm not massively holding out hope though

Damn, Anthony Mackie is everywhere.

Looks like they are going for The Suicide Squad + Fast and Furious vibe.

Coincidentally, listening to Mobb now

The show, however, looks like ass. Hope not though.

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any dumber..
