Sounds like Babylon 5 may be getting resurrected.
It would be nice to see that show with decent effects, but I'm skeptical they'll ever be able to replace Jurasik and Katsulas.
They were the Vorenus and Pullo of science fiction television. Historic performances.
The series reboot/reimagining is in limbo last JMS told us, but there is an animated movie coming out soon, as it's already been made. It's not my first choice, but I'll take anything Babylon 5 related, so long as JMS is involved.
At this point, I'd rather they just remake the CGI/effects and use the widescreen footage they shot on film for live action. I have a 1080p upscale torrent of it, and the live action looks pristine. It gets tricky when characters are in front of a green screen, but it would be worth it just to have the og cast, as you're not replacing Londo and G'Kar, two incredibly underrated performances/character arcs.
They could do a mix of new and old, with Sheridan recounting what happened as he sets sail into the outer rim, like he did at the end of S5, or one of the movies.
I never really watched it, but it is unsurprising they would try to resurrect an old show with a cult following. The old concepts seem to be making the most money these days.
The difference with this one, compared to a lot of reboots, is that original creator/writer would be at the helm of any remake.
You should def watch it. Don't let the obvious smaller budget/dated effects and slow start deter you, it's an incredible series. The foreshadowing, world build building, and eventual reveals/payoffs, is masterclass. Some of the acting isn't the best, but the best acting is as good as anything ever put on a screen.
