I have so many damn TV shows and movies I need to catch up on, but I'll be looking out for a sale for this one.

Its been re-cut from its original aspect ratio, 1:33, to what it was originally shot on 1:1.78.

Hell, I may just wait and binge watch it on its 20th anniversary.

I've still yet to see this show but I hear people put it among the best. I'll try and get to it at some point.

There's a reason why its still talked about, 12 years after its series finale aired.

Overall 10/10, with one of the absolute best series finales ever.

I may be a harder grader than you. The only show I give a 10/10 is true detective and I only count the first season as it's an anthology. The sopranos, game of thrones, and breaking bad all were great too even with the last few seasons of game of thrones falling off a cliff.

I think the common denominator between your taste and my taste is Breaking Bad.

The Shield is in the same ballpark as BB, both with morally ambiguous protagonists always narrowly avoiding the justice system. Michael Chiklis's performances is on the same level as Bryan Cranston's. Each show's supporting cast holds their own with their lead.

I prefer Breaking Bad overall, but its a hard call to make. To justify it I have to be very nit-picky about personal preferences.

Hell, after watching The Shield in 1:1.78 on Blu Ray, I may change my opinion. I watched most of its original run on a 18" 4:3 tube TV, so rewatching it on a 65" Samsung may be exactly what I need to reevaluate which one is the best cable series ever.

Amazing finale and epic final season overall. Definitely one of the best drama shows TV has produced in past twenty years.

@Dragonlordxxxxx

Is there a thread for "See" on Apple? I can't find it in search. Two episodes in. Wanna see what folks are thinking.

I don't think there's a thread on SEE. But below are Loiosh and my thoughts on the series so far.

I'm watching Jason Momoa's new post-apocalyptic series SEE. I dunno why but something just bugs me about the thought of a thriving civilization where everyone is blind, not to mention when they go to war and how they don't indiscriminately kill their own teammates.

It's the only television premise I've seen dumber than that animal show.

Everyone gets a plague and those who survive end up blind?

Everyone is dead in a week. EVERYONE. Even people who never had sight.

Lol, damn. I actually enjoyed it. Little bit of Bad Lands mixed with some Bird Box blindness.

I guess there’s no point in starting a thread now.

I watched more.

While I think the idea is silly, it's entertaining, although most of the action has me scratching my head.

I really didn't like Bird Box either.

Never watched Bird Box either, I was just using it as a reference for the blind part. We powered through the seven episodes last night. And like you said, some of this shit is super silly, but god damn if Stephen Knight doesn't know how to build up some suspense. I'm glad it's already green lit for a second season, but I think this is a 3 season show tops, because it's already looking like there is going to be an exit at some point for Mamoa. No Mamoa. No watch.

If you have haven't, I'd recommend watching Godfather of Harlem asap. Great show. It's a shame it hasn't gotten more recognition.

@Loiosh As promised, finally watched MR. INBETWEEN. Great show. Thanks for recommending it. The 26-minute running time format is perfect, wished more hour-long drama shows would incorporate this. The lead actor's face reminds me of a creepy, less-handsome Joel Kinnaman.

Anybody watching the Harley Quinn animated series? Two episodes in and this show is hilarious. Wasn't really expecting much but the R-rated show surprised me how funny and bloody it is. Best part is how funny it depicts the other Gotham and DC characters. Highly recommended, guys. This one is a winner.

See aint bad
daybreak is kinda funny
for wacky older funny shows in like childrens hospital and wet hot american summer and workaholics
never forget eastbound and down
