Finished season 1 in a week. Definitely worth a watch if you like a good crime drama, and for me real Underbelly touches

Have cracked straight on with season 2

Just finished off The Good Lord Bird as well.

Not sure where I sit on this one. I really loved the first two, three episodes, then it kinda went into a bit of a lull for me. The last couple of episodes I watched but was not paying 100% attention, doing other things while watching.

It was really good, but maybe it could have been condensed by a couple of episodes,. But then, to counter that, his capture, trial and execution (pretty sure this is not a spoiler) is glossed over pretty quickly and needed more depth.

Its a solid 7.5/10 but it could have been much more.

THE NEVERS' Writer, Director and Showrunner Joss Whedon Exits HBO Sci-Fi Series

Joss Whedon's TV return is not going as planned. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator has departed The Nevers, the sci-fi drama ordered straight to series at HBO that was the prolific writer-director's return to TV following Fox's ill-fated Dollhouse.

"We have parted ways with Joss Whedon. We remain excited about the future of The Nevers and look forward to its premiere in the summer of 2021," HBO said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday.

Picked up straight to series in July 2018 following a bidding war with other outlets including Netflix, Whedon was poised to write, direct, exec produce and serve as showrunner on The Nevers. The series is described as an epic science-fiction drama about a gang of Victorian women who find themselves with unusual abilities, relentless enemies and a mission that might change the world. Longtime Whedon collaborators Jane Espenson and Doug Petrie, who are also writing, and Bernie Caulfield also exec produce.

Casting on The Nevers has already been completed. The series is headed by Laura Donnelly (Outlander), who plays Amalia True, a "menace to Victorian" society and a reckless, impulsive and emotionally damaged hero who is the leader of the group known as the Orphans. The cast also features Olivia Williams, James Norton, Tom Riley, Ann Skelly, Ben Chaplin, Pip Torrens, Zackary Momoh, Amy Manson, Nick Frost, Rochelle Neil, Eleanor Tomlinson and Denis O'Hare.

"This year of unprecedented challenges has impacted my life and perspective in ways I could never have imagined, and while developing and producing The Nevers has been a joyful experience, I realize that the level of commitment required moving forward, combined with the physical challenges of making such a huge show during a global pandemic, is more than I can handle without the work beginning to suffer," Whedon said in a statement. "I am genuinely exhausted, and am stepping back to martial my energy towards my own life, which is also at the brink of exciting change. I am deeply proud of the work we have done; I’m grateful to all my extraordinary cast and collaborators, and to HBO for the opportunity to shape yet another strange world. The Nevers is a true labor of love, but after two plus years of labor, love is about all I have to offer. It will never fade."

When HBO ordered The Nevers in mid-2018, Whedon described the series as "maybe the most ambitious narrative" he's created. The Nevers marked Whedon's return to the small screen and the first show he has created since Fox's Dollhouse. His credits include Firefly, Buffy spinoff Angel and serving as an exec producer on ABC's Marvel drama Agents of SHIELD, which was showrun by his brother, Jed Whedon, and sister-in-law, Maurissa Tancharoen.

Whedon's decision to exit The Nevers comes as Justice League actor Ray Fisher has accused the Buffy alum of "abusive, unprofessional" behavior on the set of the DC Comics feature film. Producers Warner Bros. — a corporate sibling of HBO — is investigating Fisher's allegations.

Sorry but I'm way behind on Supernatural. I'm hoping to catch up on the many seasons I missed. But that's good to hear on it ending on a high note because some great shows seem to botch their finale.

A lot of people didn't like it, but I think they didn't understand it. Depending on where you left off, I think you could get away with watching it.

I noticed something with the new season of The Mandalorian.

Favreau seems to have been "allowed" to put HIS brand of humor in. I noticed that while the tone of the show is the same, the types of sight and verbal gags are more easily identified as "Favreau-esque".

Oh, fuck me. I was positively GAGGING for this. I'm really disappointed. HBO to me as was once was my favourite channel has been a bit of a let down lately and I really wanted to see how Joss got on with more adult TV being I'm a Whedon geek. What a damned shame. It was Josss all over being the strong empowered woman thing, and I was excited to see Ben Chaplin and Nick Frost in the Whedonverse.

That will be watched. I lost touch after Matt Smith, but this will bring me back in again.
I watched it up until the 13th Doctor. I have no problems with a female Doctor, but the pushed PC diversity crap got old really quick.
They fired everyone that previously worked in Dr Who and brought in a bunch of diversity hires that were absolutely horrible. They threw out the lore and tried to PC it. They Kathleen Kennedy’d it. When people complained they doubled down and taunted those people even though ratings hit all time lows.

Yeah, I'm with you. I've liked her in a couple of things but no interest in her as a doctor. It should be a man. That said, I haven't watched it so maybe it's good. My favourite is David Tennant, he was brilliant.

Husband said a few old doctors are coming back to it over Christmas so I imagine the diversity thing is losing viewers and needs help. Jack was a brilliant character in Torchwood.

Anyone watching The Pack on Amazon prime?

It's the amazing race, but with dogs.

No backstabbing. The contestants seem to really like each other.

You can tell which dog is going to win the challenges based upon its breed.

Sorry chihuahua, you aren't going to find that truffle before the hound dog.

I haven't seen her in anything else, I'm not a big tv or movie watcher. Tennant is my Doctor as well, Smith is a close second for me.
Capaldi took the character in a different direction but it was good, I'd highly recommend watching his run. There was a lot more emotion, regret, seriousness, and anger with his character. Clara was even better with Capaldi.
This was one of Capaldi's best moments

I haven't read anything about the other Doctors coming back. I seen Eccleston recorded a couple audio only episodes a couple months ago which I believe is the only Dr Who thing he's done since leaving.
