Television TV Show Thread

Just started rewatching the office. i liked it when i saw it originally. and i get that michael scott is just an oblivious goof who doesn't realize what he is doing half the time. but this time it is striking me as to what a total asshole he is. He is supposed to get a pass i realize, but i really can't. he is just a dick. since it is sticking with me, it is ruining my enjoyment of it

Also, I forgot how hot Amy Adams is.

So I watched the first 2 seasons of Jack Ryan. Not bad, not bad at all.

Ran through M.O.D.O.K. on Hulu. Laughed my ass off more than once. Hope we get a season 2.

Enjoyed all seasons of Jack Ryan. John Krasinski did good and also liked the rest of the cast. Mike November is probably my favorite.

I'm watching season 1 of Gangs of London for the 4th time and I'm still in awe. What an amazing show. I hope season 2 is good.

The Westworld team has me worried big time.

I keep telling myself that at least season 1 was good. But that Lisa Joy (Nolan's wife) is scary, left unchecked could be problematic did not like her HBO movie and episodes.

On paper the "showrunners" is a team made out of a relative newcomer that wrote the new Tomb Raider movie that flopped but in her defense the movie was decent, nothing bad at all but then again it didn't wow and she also wrote on the 2019 Captain Marvel that was the bare minimum on story and kinda made in the MCU assembly line so her script part was kinda whatever, she is the 'action' part of the writting duo.

Then we have someone with a tad more experience that wrote for a comedy show that I didn't see named Portlandia yet with good reviews, Emmy wins and multiple seasons plus some producer credits and a few episodes scripts for Silion Valley and The Office, he is suppose to be the 'comedy' part of the writting duo.

In reality I think this is Nolan's and Lisa's project, their company has the contract, they did the hiring and most likely they will direct most of the episodes. Hopefulley they all at least spent a few days in games to get a feel for it and that some Bethesda key bullet points, lore info, design input will result in something good. Trailer for me passed the eye test, it was on point.

They warmed his character over time. He was written much more lovable and his genuine efforts to mean well and do right by his staff were way more apparent than season 1-3

i am late in season 2 now. he was pissed because people were more concerned about Kevin possibly having cancer instead of celebrating his birthday. we will see. i don't remember him being this bad. but maybe it's because i always had it on more as background noise

Thx @Dragonlordxxxxx. I saw some leaked still images a few days ago, didn't expect a trailer so soon.

I'm with you @One MMA Fan. I'll give it a shot for sure, as I love Fallout's lore. It's crazy rich with endless paths to tell great stories. I'm very suspect on the team though.

Todd Howard said this will be canon, which I thought was a big mistake, as it's told a hundred years after Fallout 4 or something? That's a dangerous game as i don't believe he has any veto power? If it sucks like Westworld (post S1), or the Disney Star Wars trilogy, it will really hurt future games. Even if the Mandalorian and Ashoka were slam dunks, all roads lead to Rey Skywalker and "somehow Palpatine returned."

Walter Goggins is one of the goats, so he should at least be a great as the Ghoul.

The Fallout universe is amazing, so much potential, endless supply of great stories full of horror, action, adventure, sci fi and dark comedy. It will take a seriously bad writer to mess this project up this is why I'm optimistic it is kinda dummy proof even medium writing like the Fallout 4 story will have me plenty entertained in front of the TV because I love the setting so much.

And from the trailer it is clear they put money behind this and they cared enough to mimic things correctly, the look more or less is covered, actor side I know two of the three leads and they are talented, all is left is to nail the atmosphere and tone plus the center piece being the writing, hell I will even take competent scripts nothing fancy just so I can enjoy spending time in that world.

Yeah they went with the west coast setting and went 9 years after the events of Fallout 4, so they want a bit of buffer location and time wise.

That's a dangerous game as i don't believe he has any veto power?

No idea but they were confident enough to advertise his name and executive producer role to let game fans know this is interconnected, for better or worse cause he has plenty of sins himself in the eyes of many gamers from what I understand but at least it is a direct influence of the source material.

If it sucks like Westworld (post S1), or the Disney Star Wars trilogy, it will really hurt future games.

I think they can just go for a Fallout 5 set in New York or Seattle and say 10 years later and be kinda free from any influence and story lines that the TV series creates in Los Angeles.

Walter Goggins is one of the goats, so he should at least be a great as the Ghoul.

Oh yeah his casting is pure gold. And that young actress from Yellowjackets can put off a naive vault dweller as well I think.

I wonder did that showrunner lady that worked with Walton in that 2018 Tomb Raider thought of this, if so great start.

Never going to be able to touch the movie, but this looks like it has some potential.

We have a tv show thread! You know how it feels when you get tickled appropriately, it's never as good when you see it coming.

Roz returned on the Frasier finale and Peri Gilpin still looks pretty, pretty good all these years later.

Finished Warrior Season 3. Remembered Ah Toy showed the goods, but didn't remember who the beneficiary of that was so watched S1E1.

Might try Banshee next. Never really watched it when I had Cinemax.
