Nah, you're right. There are no lobbyists, that's a myth, campaigns are all self funded, federal employees and department heads have no political will or ambition, and people running for federal office are just a random sampling of the population. In fact, political parties are also a myth and have no say in candidates' platforms or policies. Derp.

Trump with his NATO leaving rhetorics has big share of guilt ( probably the deciding share ) that war is raging in Europe right now. Trump loss in elections made Putin hesitate for a while, before invading. If Trump won, UA would be part of Russia right now. Creating few generations lasting conflict between millions of UA inhabitants and Russian oppressors.

Whole conservative right wing politics in West is infested with retarded easy solutions, which woun''t work. Make no mistake Moscow is playing active role in supporting such ideas, planting seeds of distrust to regular political parties.

Russia will be happy if alliance of USA and EU broke down.
You can have a look at UK how emotionally fuelled politics looks.
If USA left NATO, the outcome would be disastrous as Brexit.

During middle ages, when peasants were restless, King announced holy war and prevented uprising.

Nowadays conservatives do the same. They portrait themselves as crusaders of traditional values.

Funny enough, they don't follow "Thou shalt not steal" command. ( I am speaking specifically about EU's leaders : Orban, Babis, Fico, Berlusconi....)
