It will be interesting to see how long it will take if/when charges will ever be laid on p.* Trump and if not, how the Justice Department will try to justify that given that a prima facia case for obstruction has clearly been established.

I think that if he's not in prison before the new year it's unlikely he will see a real consequence for the stolen documents--the likelihood of other charges notwithstanding. I'd love to know the contents, if any, of Alex Jones's communications emerging from his civil case that are relevant to this being as how the raid occurred so soon after they turned up in the complainant's lawyer's hands. Here's hoping they're made public in a court sooner rather than later.

Addendum to the above--the article posted above says Trump advisors had been giving testimony to the grand jury for the past few weeks and I wasn't aware of that. Perhaps that extends the timeline a little since they're obviously still gathering evidence. And it says they're still in some sort of negotiation with Trump's lawyers? What in the actual fuck is that, can anyone help me understand? Isn't this a criminal investigation?

I just don't understand... Everyone on the Eastern seaboard knows that you can't trust Trump! Somehow they thought that just because he won the Presidency that it would make him some sort of Saint.

A federal judge on Monday dismissed former President Donald Trump’s lawsuit challenging the government’s access to materials seized from his Mar-a-Lago resort, marking the formal end to Trump’s monthslong legal fight following the FBI’s raid of his home.

The judge’s order came four days after Trump declined to appeal a higher-court ruling that canceled the appointment of a special master to review the thousands of items taken by federal agents during an Aug. 8 raid of Trump’s Florida residence.

Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee, signed a one-page order dismissing the case for lack of jurisdiction. The order, filed in U.S. District Court in West Palm Beach, also terminated all hearings, deadlines and motions that were still pending in the case. That includes Trump’s effort to obtain an unredacted version of the search warrant affidavit that was used to sanction the raid.
