Biden 15 years ago would have been fine. Biden today is eeeesh.
Trump was someone who only viewed the Presidency not as a way to serve his country, but for his country to serve him.

You can have the dream team of lawyers but if your client is an oppositionally defiant idiot who won't listen to his counsel, continue to post on social media during the investigation and trial, and insist on strategies that make no sense to anyone with a functioning brain cell, then that person is going to have a court record that looks like Trump's.

Trump doesn't care about winning in the courts, however. He just wants to create an impression that there are two sides to every story, and he expects his cult followers to side with him.

Even money can't buy you the best lawyers. You need to also provide them an avenue to win the case.

The best lawyers aren't going to take losing cases no matter how much you pay them.

So Trump is left with low quality federalist society losers that are politically loyal, but inept.
