Do you see how this is different than, Betsy Devos has absolutely no relevant experience?

Not saying Obamas pick was the right one or for the right reason, but at least she was 1) in the military 2) in the Air Force 3) a general.

All of these make her infinitely more qualified for her position than Devos is for hers.

I went through the candidates earlier in this thread and the fact is Democratic possibilities were encouraged to decline a nomination with one of the two strongest candidates outside of Devos saying specifically that she wouldnt accept a nomination (Mazakowski) and the other (Rhee) implying she wouldn't accept the nomination.

public education is a battle between right and left, and many other things. to act as if liberals control public ed, is either incredibly ignorant, or stupid. i mentioned the problem of school funding by LOCAL property tax in most states, by a large degree. what liberal wants that? 0.

one could easily argue that the textbook industry is right-wing. liberals want a uniform pedagogical style and common threads in what is taught, as well. the textbook industry is private, and therefore attempts to create books to the liking of the largest markets like.....texas. lmao, in some of those history textbooks, it literally treats people of color as if they were slaves or even "workers," then they were freed, and all became jazz musicians in harlem. where is the white guilt?

and as i mentioned earlier, i do think choice is a good thing. charter schools are good, but not with the current levels of corruption. in my state, lets say a program at a public school applies for a grant to get a 3D printer. they win it. now they get the money, but must share a percentage of it with the district charter schools. w......t......f. then you have taxpayers funding charter schools, and stealing students and money from public schools. its the same shit, its just rebranded. so then when the public school falls to pieces and everyone leaves, the charter lobbied politicians take pictures of crumbling public schools and cry about the liberal education system's failure lol.

I have no issues if all leftists propaganda and indoctrination was removed from public education by force under the banner of national security. There's a reason most leftists have ended up on a wall after the nationalists of the country they were trying to destroy wake up.

But when the rubber hits the road and it's time to make changes that will actually produce better results, that's not so easy. Devos already found this out in Michigan. They've been trying to destroy public education for decades.

The conservative wave of 2010 is proof enough of that. Major slash-and-burn tactics used to defund the schools. Many states are examples of this. Kansas, Pennsylvania just to name two.
