Again: $30 trillion economy; closest rival weighs in below $20t, and has lost over $4 trillion in ground over the last half-decade alone. But it's services based, consumption driven, and we've got trade deficits! The fundamentals have evaporated. Or, not? It's also the largest agriculture exporter in the world, largest energy producer in the world, has domestic manufacturing output larger than the entire GDP of all but six countries and over 480,000 jobs in the sector are going unfilled right now that can't be filled by cheap unskilled labor. And global trade? As a percentage of GDP, the United States is the 191st most dependent country on international trade -- out of 193. How much more "isolationism" is necessary?
So like what the fuck are we even doing here? What is the plan? What is the end game? Double You Tee Eff!
