If we're being honest, we would need to tariff most Chinese goods 500-1000% before most manufacturers would even consider reshoring to the US, as well as a few dozen other countries.

The talk now isn't about reshoring to America, but reshoring to Vietnam, Thailand, India, Peru, Chile, Mexico, etc.

Do you think Vance won some sort of merit competition? No. He was selected because Peter Thiel cut Trump a fat check and Trump let Thiel handpick his blood boy to be VP.

You may be right, but perception is reality. She was perceived as such to many. Also, the fact that she was a woman and not white did hurt her chances. It would be disingenuous to say otherwise.

I mean this is clearly dishonest as well. She was selected for those characteristics as VP. The VP role is generally selected to shore up certain demographics that their primary candidate misses and it's not particularly unique to Biden. Biden himself was selected for similar reasons when they ran Obama. Pence was selected for Trump to secure the Republican's Christian base since Trump is a lying adulterer at minimum.

She wasn't selected under the assumption that she would eventually have to run a last minute, shortened national election.

I agree that there may have been a perception that she was a bad candidate. I just think the idea that the Democrats have to run a perfect candidate or else people will vote for an even worse Republican is brain dead stupid.

Even if both candidates are bad, you vote for the least bad one. There is no justification for voting for the worst of the two.
