Economy Trump's April 2nd Tariffs

This is a comically absurd apologist take on the current economic anarchy. The last time we experienced any kind of expansionism rivaling what we would need to sustain global economic hegemony it was done by the Government. This crap cannot bring about that kind of manufacturing base while simultaneously crippling the Federal Government and rescinding the kinds of grants communities need to develop into mamifacturing/education/research hubs. Plus we have crumbling infrastructure that's been neglected for decades. We are in NO position for expansion of this sort.

The private sector has never, ever in US History, sufficiently overseen this kind of development. Even for all of pur worship of Capitalism, our large Federap Government kept us competitive on the global stage through numerous crises.

I didn't realize you were an economist.

Sorry.

BTW, bookmarking this thread to reference in 3 months when everyone has cancelled their tarrifs and the economy is chugging right along. Im sure you won't mind being quoted.

Can I summarize your position as, "YOU CAN'T DO THAT!!!!". ?

They'll all be sorry when we have an infinite supply of beets. Who needs beets? Not these guys!

Board game publishers lament the devastating impact of new US tariffs on the tabletop industry: 'There is no silver lining. It is a lose-lose-lose situation for everyone involved'

"But what you may not have realised is that those products have been produced almost exclusively in China. From miniatures to dice to tokens to cards to boards to rulebooks, the vast majority of the paper, chipboard, plastic figures on sprues, and printed cards that you find in any given board game box or TTRPG starter set were manufactured there before being shipped west for distribution.

In the short term, the tabletop boom is over. Expect a rash of collapsed Kickstarters, publisher closures, layoffs, and scaling back across the industry. In the long term, wherever you live, we're looking at these hobbies getting much more expensive with a much smaller variety of lower quality options available, and much of the industry being consolidated by the few major players able to weather the storm.

There are more important things in the world than tabletop games, of course. That doesn't make it any less heart-breaking to see an industry that has grown into a more creative, vibrant, and welcoming world than ever before in recent years be cut down in its prime by rushed economic policy with no clear upside. We all love taking a risk on a dice roll, but not with the fate of the entire global economy, please.

I am a regard who posts on a karate forum saying to buy #TrumpPuts for the last 2 months. I am currently up 127% on those. Like Warren Buffet I sold a lot and then went into cash, but I knew a guy who can’t even make money owning a casino making all of our economic decisions would fucking tank the economy. If you turned off Fox News and listened to me you have doubled your money. The awesome part is the next President will unfuck all of Dumb Donny’s Dumb decisions and I will have a giant war chest of money I made on #TrumpPuts to bargain shop for other stocks.
I told everyone of you MAGA idiots this was going to happen and guess what it happened. Now I will made enough off the Orange Dumbass to retire early.
The funnest part for me is dudes like Dave Portnoy who campaigned for Trump whining like a little bitch on Instagram that Trump’s policies cost him 7 million in stock loses. Every where I turn I see fat leopards sitting on top of a pile of faces wearing red hats.
I personally would like to thank Americans for voting for such an idiot because betting against Trump has made me rich.

Jesus fucking Christ.

Reading this gave me a headache. The people who profess to be the smartest people in the room wouldn't pass a 7th grade English class.

Slow down. Build a sentence. Read it out loud.

Fuck man, thats genuinely heartbreaking for me. I run table top games for my Marines. It's dumb and nerdy but it makes the crazy fuckers' weekend.

Yeah, I have a group and a lot of us are veterans. It helps us to know that we're still cohesive after serving. If you have your eye on anything, get it now before the price skyrockets.

It's actually from the 1996 you gender confused, involuntarily celibate pussy!

"Going to destroy us all"
Maintaining the status quo has hobbled US manufacturing and the country has acquired 37 trillion in debt in the past 20 years.

Yet, partisan hacks like you refuse to take your head out of your boyfriend's ass long enough to ever take a real look around.
Christ, bro, dial back the cringe.

Why don't you think of say, PCs or modern computer components that undergird the American economy.
Okay.

Thinking of it now.

Lost it.

I'm pretty shook up about the board games. I was kinda upset about all of our manufacturing being outsourced for decades while enduring foreign tarrifs resulting in a destroyed blue collar middle class. But then this board game thing hit me. Having trouble focusing of PCs.

Sorry.

I mean, it's an industry, same as a million others. People make those things, buy those things. Why should those jobs and businesses be treated as expendable?

He says, posting from a device sourced from multiple foreign countries and assembled in a cheaper market to keep prices for you down.

Now if only you could connect the dots between that and arguing that tariffs are the way to go.
