Economy Trump's April 2nd Tariffs

Do any Sherbros hold a position in a company that has to import raw materials to make its product? What's the reaction of the company there?
I ship (export and import) raw materials to the usa.

Metals (copper, lead, zinc, etc), steel pipe, agrigate, wood Pellets, sulphur, potash and tons of other shit to the usa. Sometimes through them to other countries, sometimes usa is the destination.

It's very chaotic now. Mostly the companies I'm hearing from are just trying to cut out usa all together. It's too volatile and uncertain. Will they return after Trump leaves? I'd imagine so, business is business.

A family member holds one of the highest private business positions in Canada is doing the same (leaving it vague purposely). But hes now on a full "screw the usa" stance that I thought I'd never see him take.

and you would gladly keep the status quo of being the world's cuck if it owned the chuds.

What is kind of funny, is like 20 years ago, the progressive talking point was Walmart bad because it provides cheap Chinese goods, which hurts American manufacturing and retailers

Now their position is Walmart and Chinese goods are the cornerstone of our economy and this is bad because we need cheap stuff at Walmart.

It is actually beautiful in a way.

Tariffs are an act of war and the only reason they were a policy in the past is because countries would literally blockade you and force you to pay tariffs on their goods.

There is nothing compelling every country on earth from simply not dealing with America instead, they'll just trade with each other.

This his a HUGE windfall for China.

Newsflash it's been 20 years and corporate interests have fully sold out our manufacturing. There's nothing to protect with tariffs now that isn't already being protected by more thoughtful tariff and subsidy policy.

There is plenty of shit that is getting tariffed that is not produced here and never will be. In the end we the consumers are going to be the ones to feel the pain, even if it does bring some factories/production back to America. It will not offset the price increases. Studies were done on his tariffs from his first term that proved this.

I don't agree they're at fault. Anyone who might ask is excluded from the event. A similar situation unfolding in the Pierre Poilievre campaign in Canada. He refuses to allow any press to be present at campaign stops, while his shills push bullshit online.
I just cannot see Media conforming to ask only the questions Trump approves of them asking is the answer.

If a question like 'you were clear that American citizens would not pay these Tariffs and foreign countries would. Car prices are now up x% and i want to know if you were wrong in saying American's would not pay it or will the government be rebating the citizens these extra costs... or is there some other plan?'

I am thankful for dudes like you who will not leave their confirmation bias bubble to get information.
My #TrumpPuts are up 25% today and up 64% when I told you Rubes to buy them.
You see, people who took a basic economic course in college, knew this was going to be an economic shit show. Ben Stein even told you during the movie Ferris Buellers Day Off, blanket tariffs are fucking stupid. Strategic Tariffs are fine, just tariffing the whole world is a special kind of stupid. So even me, a Regard who posts on a Karate forum, knew it was dumb. I will pull back the curtain for you, even the confirmation bias media that you follow also knew it was dumb, but they did not want to tell you it was dumb, because they knew there would be someone else willing to profit off you, that would tell you what Trump is doing with Tariffs is amazing. I doubt you will be posting any Trump polling numbers for quite a while.

What is really funny is that all you dumbasses voted for Trump to waive away inflation and lower prices on Day 1 lmao

You idiots were frothing at the mouth like he was going to be a miracle for the economy, only to watch him absolutely fucking ream you in the ass

For anyone interested in reading a bit on ramifications from Tariffs, I read this a long time ago while Obama was still in office. I thought it was fascinating at the time as I knew nothing of tariffs or impact on global trade (still dont know much)

He imposed tariffs on chinese made tires, it cost American consumers an additional 1.1 billion dollars and virtually nothing was gained by American workers

This tiny tariff is a fraction of what we are about to see.

Question. If Trump has a brilliant team of advisors as Leavitt says that have been doing this for decades and it will work wouldn't this plan be done years ago by Trump during his first term or other Presidents?
