Economy Trump's April 2nd Tariffs

We had 2 terms of Clinton and 2 terms of Obama. Neither addressed this issue. Blaming a president who left office nearly 40 years ago is a bit of a stretch.

It doesn't matter who did it. Its a problem that needs addressing and we are too poor to do so.
Too poor to address infrastructure? Biden and Dems passed a massive, 4 trillion dollar infrastructure bill (after Trumo of course failed miserably to even try during his term). We’re doing tons for infrastructure, but this takes YEARS. The full benefits of those investments won’t be seen for years, because bundling infrastructure takes a lot of time.

Looks like the stock rebound has just started, I've already recouped almost all of today's losses in the last 10 minutes

Ah, so now you're advising patience and dealing with the unpleasantness in the meantime?

Where is this 4 trillion going to come from? We're massively in debt.

Boom in the green again, this period is just a little exchange of wealth exercise from the weak panic sellers to the chads who keep their heads when everyone else is freaking out.

Yeah I thought that would be clear to everyone since talking 2025 to 2008 dollars. In absolute value lost it's still greater.

Obviously the percentage isn't as much or the headline would be different

Call me cynical, but I don't know that it was meant to be clear to everyone. If you don't have that headline, you don't have an article.

I would be wary of gloating just yet Sherbro.

This is my question for Republicans 4 tril tax cut

At least with an infrastructure bill we get some infrastructure out of 4T from the budget
Its like we need more revenue or something.

I think it didn't matter. Post Covid Inflation was the biggest issue on like every exit poll across the country. The whole world suffered from that which is why every government across the world lost the last election cycle.
Don't say immigration because Trump literally veto'd a bipartisan immigration bill to keep that issue alive to run on.

I wasn't going to say inflation or immigration.

The democrats fucked up big time by 1 making kamala Harris a person who no one likes and wanted to vote for ( see her primary numbers) the vice president. She never should have been in the position she was in in the first place and the decision to put her there was quite the mistake like ripples in a pond.

And 2 letting a completely compromised Biden run for a second term and causing the chain of events that lead to one of the most unpopular candidates in modern times being their presidential candidate. This is one of the biggest political fuck ups of all time and the democrats really want to ignore it and pretend that isn't the case or like they have no responsibility for what's happening now

Everyone new that Trump is a buffoon that was going to be a problem if he got elected. Everyone new exactly what was on the line.....but still they did everything in their power to make sure he became the president again. They said he was literally Hitler and then ran like they were playing an exhibition game.

The democrats deserve a lot of the blame for what's going on right now and they deserve the approval ratings that they currently have. If they weren't so fucking incompetent Trump wouldn't be where he is in the first place.

Its like we need more revenue or something.
Yeah. Which is why cutting corporate taxes is the opposite of what we should be doing

Or are you stupidly talking about Tarrifs? Trump already says he wants to make deals, not actually collect any tariff money. And tariffs results in middle class taxes on what was once affordable goods our consumerism culture loves to buy.

I think middle class is the last place we should collect more revenue from, but it's the place Republicans love to squeeze.

Yeah, it’s totally not an event that on a long-term basis has inspired scepticism in America amongst all its allies.

If they really want to generate revenue what you need is some form of automation tax imo.
