-Raw material to produce these goods will be more expensive in the US because of tariffs on imports
-After pissing off the entire planet, a lot of people will simply not buy US-made goods.

Is it really some sort of urgent issue? US manufacturing output is larger than the GDP of all but six countries. Investment in US manufacturing capacity over the last four years alone is over $625 billion. There are literally over 480,000 unfilled job openings in the US manufacturing sector, right now. Well, I’ve lost about 10% of my total retirement savings in the past several days just on account of Trump announcing what he’s *going* to do. We haven’t even had Day 1 of the actual tariffs yet, let alone week one, month one, month three, year one, or however long this shit is going to go on for.

I think that’s a reasonable thing to have some anxiety over, no? I spent almost 2 hours on the phone with my 76 year old mother going over all her investments to make sure she doesn’t lose everything they built in their lifetimes. Wtf.
