I'm referring to "the idea" as trump's idea of tariffs is right.

Let me rephrase it maybe so you'll understand. The idea of tariffs is not a bad thing, and actually a good idea, but it's the METHOD in which tariffs are implemented that is crucially important.

Trump does not want to make America great. He wants to destroy it so his buddies and himself can buy it for pennies on the dollar when it crashes, and then he'll remove the tariffs.

Fuck off with this "Oh our allies" shit. Our allies have shown just how much our prosperity means to them. We've been funding military protection for the entire world for decades now. The US has contributed plenty to the world in this century. Now we want something back. WE are THEIR ally too, are we not? What countries send the US billions and billions of their taxpayer dollars to support our trans folks, for example?
