It seems very weird.
Musk was very angry, now he is like, hey good job with the riots, maybe we can be friends again.
My personal theory is Musk Is obviously a business genius, but obviously messed up emotionally and as a person. He saw Trump as a friend, said he loved him. He might never have had a friend before. Trump creates a bill that adds millions to the deficit, but no room for Musk's EV's in it.
Does seem like Musk got his feelings hurt. He couldn't handle it and went nuts.
Yea, just sucks how politics is, Trump lashed out a lot, even against republicans during his first term, still does.
With just this 9 billion DOGE recession they are trying now, they already have at least one establishment Republican, Don bacon, saying he will be a no. Why? Because he is older, knows that if he gets primaried, he likely will be able to get a lobbying job. Him publically saying no, may let him take all the flak from the MAGA base, so a few other no votes can slip in under the radar to kill it.
They desperately hope they can just wait trump out and then when he is gone they can go back to being uniparty yes men who vote for any and everything they can put in the budget. Then they go back to their districts and cry democrats spend too much, say they will fix it, donate to me. Such a scam.
the big bill having all these potential DOGE cuts, would never pass
I also think the fact that almost no one took his side played a part.
Rogan is much closer to Elon than he is to Trump, and his immediate response was that Elon needs his phone taken away.
He probably imagined that his tech friends like David Sacks and the All In guys would side with him, as well as Rogan. They didn't. They either stayed silent or expressed shock at how absurd Elon's accusation was.
probably. He realized he doesn’t have near the political influence he thought he did. He told people to call up congress to complain about the bill, but rumors are that basically no one called in, republicans even laughing at how few people called in.
The people Elon brought in aren’t interested in politics enough to put in that effort. Where as when someone like Bannon says to call in, the switch board is basically shut down from people calling in.
Also, at the same time Elon was melting down, Stephen Miller was putting out tweets, videos of interviews, explaining why the cuts are not in the bill, along with how the bill will reduce the deficit, etc. and as smart as Elon is, miller is very smart and a way better communicator. I def trust miller over musk on political strategy. Or Bessent over Musk on economics
Along with it coming out the NASA guy was a big democrat donor. After all the times Trump has been betrayed by those in the GOP, his admin, etc, he would never appoint a dem donor.
