I hope there is a hundred versions of this thread just like the Russia thread because that worked out great for the left ...
You mean tons of Trump's friends and business associates ending up in prison?

And yet here we are again, waiting for more indictments to drop.

When are you idiots going to realize that Trump is the Ryan Leaf of presidential selections? A total bust.

Yea which one of those actually concluded with Russia ? What were their crimes ? Oh yea that’s right

Of course I realize that. I’m part of it. I would never have voted for someone like Jeb or Kasich. I hate the old Republican Party more than you do. Trump has reoriented the Republican Party to represent workers, families, and Americans. He’s also reoriented the Democratic Party to represent corporations, single mothers/NEETs, and foreigners.

I disagree that it’s “the party of Trump” though. His supporters are loyal because he’s one of the only people owning this platform.

Let's say Trump is reelected and serves two full terms. Then what? There is no other Trump or anyone even remotely like him. It will be back to the same old GOP talking points from before Trump. The same old faces. Who then do you put your energy behind?

There were lots of crimes and lots of punishments. Look how many people from Trump's inner circle are in prison already.

Trump's been an un-indicted co-conspirator himself more than a few times already.

"I believe a reasonable person looking at these facts could conclude that all three elements of the crime of obstruction of justice have been met, and I'd like to ask you the reason, again, you did not indict Donald Trump is because of the OLC (the DOJ's Office of Legal Counsel) opinion stating that you cannot indict a sitting president, correct?" Lieu asked.

"That is correct," Mueller asked.

But keep bringing up Russia, it totally makes Trump and his handlers look like just the sort of amateurish idiots they actually are.

That’s a very good question. Hopefully someone recognizes the vitality of the coalition he’s building and maintains it. But if it’s just more Jeb, Kasich, Rubio, Bush, Romney clones, then I might have to go third party or sit out. At this rate, I wouldn’t consider voting Democrat.

A whole lot of people believed that...

"Mexico is going to pay for it!"
"Healthcare reform is so easy!"
"I will definitely, absolutely, show my taxes!"
"Only I can fix it!"

To name a few...

And still got 3 million less votes, blamed it on voter fraud, started a fact finding group to look into it and lastly found no voter fraud except from the Republican Party.

Classic classic stuff.

That's absurd but it does still reveal something about your ethics (or lack thereof).

Not only is absurd it’s factually incorrect.

Republicans administrations, in fact, have the most arrests and indictments of the two major political parties.

Him arguing against that fact is like arguing 2+2=5

I'm registered with no party affiliation, I've always been pretty in the middle. I guess I have the opposite issue where the party I mostly ended up voting for is moving further left with no signs of slowing down. I can't see myself voting for a Bernie or Warren. Out of the current field I'd vote for Biden or Buttigieg. Seems moderate dems are a thing of the past. I'd vote for a moderate republican over a socialist.

Out of curiosity, who do you consider a moderate republican these days?

Damn a Ryan Leaf diss. A fellow X-Charger or WSU?

I honestly can't think of any off the top of my head. I guess I am just saying if there was a republican that was a bit more socially moderate I may consider voting that way.

I understand that to a point. But what is “moderate?” Is Hillary Moderate? Mitt Romney? To me, they’re almost interchangeable. If both sides agree to ignore the most important issues because they’re politically perilous, is that really moderate, or just cowardly? If both sides agree to maintain the status quo because it’s easy, is that moderate, or just lazy? If both sides agree to do the bidding of powerful corporations at the expense of citizens, is that moderate, or just slutty?

I was actually a Democrat for most of my life. Not to patronize you, but I felt exactly how you say. I feel like I’m “in the middle,” and the stuff I care about never gets talked about.

Hillary policy wise isn't far off from moderate, she's on the fringe. Romney isn't a moderate, he's a republican who wants to keep what's left of his values in the era of Trump. To me it's someone that isn't extreme one way or the other. They don't want to jump into something like healthcare and just turn it on it's head. They work to improve it slowly. Same with gun control, I can't get on board with someone like Beto. Things need to be more calculated and thought out. You can fix issues without going to the extreme. Just a more steady balanced approach to things.

EDIT: after writing this I realize how hard it is to even label anything politically anymore.

I respect your opinion, though I disagree. I don’t see too many meaningful distinctions between someone like Romney and someone like Hillary. I would probably sit that election out.

What’s the difference between moderate and relativist? Is a moderate by definition someone who doesn’t change the status quo?
