Kurt Russel is available thank god

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trumpon Tuesday talked up a joint venture investing up to $500 billion for infrastructure tied to artificial intelligence by a new partnership formed by OpenAI, Oracle and SoftBank.

The new entity, Stargate, will start building out data centers and the electricity generation needed for the further development of the fast-evolving AI in Texas, according to the White House. The initial investment is expected to be $100 billion and could reach five times that sum.

Thoughts instead of just bitching for the sake of being a bitchy bitch who bitches ? Here’s something that actually matters

This confirms it. Trump is the Antichrist. RIP humanity

I love giving billionaires subsidies.

God forbid a wealthy person or corporation ever have to spend their own money. I would not stand for it.

Not a fan of this. Trump's a boomer so seriously doubt he knows what's up but Thiel and has a pretty nasty neoplatonic Straussian worldview that pretty much sees humans as cattle. Technocrats up to no good with AI.

Covered this with my last paragraph

No you didn't, and Elon has been throwing shade at this whole deal claiming they don't have anywhere near the funding they're claiming.

President Musk is already trying to throw a wrench in it, likely because his own efforts in AI are not being appreciated in the manner he wants here.

  • Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said OpenAI, Oracle and Softbank “don’t actually have the money” to back up their pledge to invest $500 billion in U.S. artificial intelligence infrastructure.
  • President Donald Trump touted the joint venture, dubbed the Stargate project, on the first full day of his second term.
  • “SoftBank has well under $10B secured. I have that on good authority,” Musk wrote overnight on his social media platform X.

Elon is right......we need to be very careful with this AI stuff. We need to be on the cutting edge, but we have to do it responsibly.

On paper it's a good trio.
You have OpenAI (algos), Softbank (financing) and Oracle (networking infrastructure, physical and software).
problem is i don't know where they could get 500 billion. AI infrastructure is a massive growth sector, china invests in it, now the US. unfortunately we in the EU are doing fuck all about it.

So money to help an ally like Ukraine is bad, but billions of dollars funneled to other rich people is cool got it.

One person so far with any thought to their answer. Ok you’re my audience.

I guess what I’m wondering is with the unlimited potential here would you say this is a next step and whomever is on the front of ai is set to be the next superpower? I mean millions of jobs are on the line here.

I am not yet convinced 100% about the ai use on the long term but I'm pretty sure the field will attract enormous amounts of money and the logistics of ai infrastructure will be, at least for China and America, at the forefront of tech investment. What I don't know if the future is open source ai or skynet level state controlled or at least deeply monitored. We know how China likes it so my suspicion is the higher ai functions, like military applications, will be classified everywhere. As for the ai determining the next superpower, I don't know. If it turns out to be what it promised to be, then the answer is yes.

Bit of a left field but check out ai vs drs

There’s others where they out diagnose drs

you could argue that these kind of things need to be done before China gets too far ahead
