It was mostly that Trump has determined that weathering the disappointment from his base was easier than dealing with his name appearing in the files in ANY context whatsoever.

The bullshit is democrats now twisting everything to where they can immediately dismiss it. Like if Maxwell testifies and says things they don’t want to hear. Well, she was coached.

Or if the files are released and Trump’s name appears in the context I believe..then whatever is redacted in the pages after becomes the goods.

So they’re operating in bad faith to create another multi year story similar to Russia. I’m NOT agreeing that it’s a democrat created hoax mind you. I’m just saying their interest is phony and they are only looking for threads to weave a tale.

The people originally getting on Trump and Bondi over this then start to qualify their criticisms or back away entirely to separate themselves from what they view as false narratives or political opportunism from the left. So it sucked the blood out of the first thing that cracked Trumps base

You are though trying to dismiss legitimate criticisms. How should people be reacting to how they’ve dealt with Maxwell? Or the theater of the files and the subsequent walk back?

Just today Trump told his supporters to shut the fuck up about the Trumpstein files because if they ask questions about the Trumpstein files, they are dumb Rubes, tricked by the Democrats.

In a June 2024 Fox News interview clip from the campaign, Trump indicated he would declassify / make public more materials related to Jeffrey Epstein if elected.

In a September 2024 interview he said he “would have no problem” releasing additional Epstein materials and that a client list “probably will be” made public if it existed.

Pam Bondi said, “that materials “are sitting on my desk” to review and that President Trump had directed action”

July 2025 Trump publicly said he had asked the Justice Department to seek release of grand-jury testimony and other Epstein-related materials (and directed AG Bondi to pursue such releases).

That’s not getting into the trove of people on his payroll who have said the same things.

Excuse my interjection, but I want to continue to point out that not running on releasing the Epstein files is not any kind of a virtue.
We have four years of Biden as evidence that Democrats are not going to release Epstein files.
It is now clear that Trump isn't going to release Epstein files.
You have a uniparty: Kang (Dems) and Kodos (Repubs) are not going to release Epstein files.

If you like this status quo then fine, but if you don't, then you must elect a non-Dem/non-Repub president.
Ross Perot showed that a candidate from outside the uniparty could win.
The catch is that Ross Perot was probably also uniparty to split the right wing vote to elect Bill Clinton over Bush Sr; Perot even folded dutifully to Gore over the free trade debate.
Next presidential election, you need to grill all candidates mercilessly on Epstein file failures, and then write in a viral candidate on an anti-uniparty slogan like Nword Heil Hitler; do you agree?
