Trump on Pollution

I might say ok but it was part of his campaign to help boost the economy.

Come on... be real and honest, you didn't give a single fuck about any of this until Trump shrunk the area... right?

Can you source Trumps campaign stating they would reduce national parks for economic reasons? Not saying it wasn't part of the campaign but it's something I never heard and I've never heard anybody state it either.

Blaming Trump while rolling out an overflowing garbage can to the street, before getting in a fossil fuel burning car and driving an hour to work each way.

There comes a point in physics where technology can no longer "make magic." I'm not an engineer but I do hold a degree in Materials Engineering and I will tell you that solar power, as a technology, is reaching it's upper limit of feasibility. We are bound by Thermodynamics and there's only so much further we will be able to take solar power. The problem is people think solar power is some kind of unlimited and untapped source of infinite energy... this is not true.
https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/128_2015_637

Nuclear power, on the other hand, is only marginally utilized in terms of its potential and with another 20 years or so the safety of nuclear power will be exponentially greater than it is today. One of my favorite courses was a course of the materials side of nuclear engineering and one of the big takeaways was that we are very close to making nuclear energy very safe, accessible, and affordable. Remember, we just came out of a 30+ year hiatus of nuclear research because of the political connotations associated with nuclear energy.
I got nothing against nuclear energy if we can refine it like u say, thats for sure. Its powerful technology.

Also that article looks like its about land based solar panels. Im talking about solar panels in space, big ones. No atmosphere, no clouds, etc. I think its naive to say we are reaching any tech limits. We still got the quantum computing + machine learning (making huge leaps recently) on the way which should lead to massive advances. In the mean time elon musk is keeping us headed in a good direction with tesla and spacex. People always think we are reaching some limits but humans keep proving otherwise.

Im still mindblown that googles generalized machine learning AI absolutely decimated our best chess programs after only 4 hours of practice. Also at the dota internation last year the machine learning AI was schooling our best human gamers in a real time contest. Once we figure out quantum computing we will be able to simulate literally anything and have machine learning analyze it, its impossible to know what will come from that at this point. Very exciting

Yes he did do a quick search of "Tump campaign national parks". Was looking for video but I'm not going to sit through hours of him talking to find a 5 min spot im sorry. Anyways you can't denie the 1.5 billion dollar cut.

Republicans for years have been wanting to drill on national lands. It's not like a big secret. I might not have cared about that park won't lie. I do however enjoy hiking and would hate to lose future spot just to let a corporation drill or harvest that land.

Again, you're regurgitating "talking points" about solar energy rather than addressing the actual thermal issues. There's an energy cost associated with capturing solar energy (even in space), getting it into our atmosphere, and again in converting it into usable energy. One of my professors was working on new materials for solar energy and I believe her when she said that solar energy is nearing it's apex of usability. While I have no issue with further study / research into this area I firmly believe it's not going to be the "clean energy" solution people seem to believe it will be.

Anyways, good discussion, always nice to debate people where it doesn't rapidly turn into mocking / memes / poison. Cheers buddy!

You made the claim so please provide the evidence... you lack any credibility responding with "google it" when asked for a source. Hiking is cool and I agree, but as far as I can tell most of this area isn't suitable for hiking... only about 8 hiking trails in the entire area.

https://www.blm.gov/sites/blm.gov/files/UT_BearsEars_NM.pdf

Note: that map was from March, 2017 before the reduction.

Also, cheers to you for at least admitting you didn't care either way until Trump got involved.

If your to lazy to look before calling me a liar (no credibility) whatever bro. It's cool if you want to blindly defend your boy Trump and don't want to find truth yourself. I care that little about it. I state what "might be" truth you plug your ears without looking yourself afraid someone might say something true about your home boy.

Like I said 1.5 billion, then donated his 1st quarter check as a smoke screen. Your boy ain't all clean.

What a shitty post and did I call you a liar? Not a chance in hell as all I asked for was a source. I'm curious why you won't provide one... perhaps you were wrong when you suggested he campaigned on cutting national parks for economic reasons?

As for Trump I don't really care either way... I'm not some blind follower of any politician and this is why I ask for sources when people state things which aren't very well known. It's OK if you're wrong... I've looked for sources on things before and had to eat crow because I was just flat out wrong. All I ask is that other people do the same... instead you do what most people on the left tend to do and you start throwing rhetoric and absurdities instead of providing evidence for your claim.

As for the $1.5 billion in cuts you keep jabbering about is this what you're alluding to?
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...lling-on-public-lands/?utm_term=.5cfd35e5e02a

It's a 12% reduction in the annual budget and I have no issue with getting rid of redundancies or eliminating waste / unnecessary bureaucracy.
"...about $1.6 billion less annually — and eliminate programs that Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke has called unnecessary, duplicative or a low priority. Among them: discretionary grants to help reclaim abandoned mine sites, National Heritage areas that Trump administration officials say are more appropriately funded locally and National Wildlife Refuge payments to local governments."

So let me hear this right. All your saying is " I'm right your wrong. I won't put any effort into educating myself, someone else was does it for me". I already told you I don't give a shit. You have no idea where the cuts will end up out of the money. Fuck off bro. I'm sure Trump is proud. I'm left? That's cool you think so. I pointed you in the right direction if you can't take the leap whatever.

Yet another shitty post with no substance. Where did I say anything of which you're attributing to me? You made a claim with which I wasn't familiar and asked you to source it. Rather than source it you got all bitchy and whiny and well... just look your post. I don't care who's right or wrong it was just a piece of information which I'm not sure is legit and I haven't heard anybody mention it before... you made the claim, not me... why are you so unwilling to back up your claim with a source?

Anyways, I'm done with you as you aren't willing to bring anything to the table. I don't know why I'm even bothering when you admitted that you only cared about an issue because Trump was involved. LMAO Cheers "buddeh."

23 Environmental Rules Rolled Back in Trump’s First 100 Days
Revoked a rule that prevented coal mining companies from dumping debris into local streams.
Canceled a requirement for reporting methane emissions.
Rejected a ban on a potentially harmful insecticide.
Withdrew guidance for federal agencies to include greenhouse gas emissions in environmental reviews.
Ordered review and "elimination" of rule that protected tributaries and wetlands under the Clean Water Act.

And on and on. Get stuffed.
huh, i didn't know about that. frankly though when i voted for trump i already realized he was a business man and didn't plan to stop being one. i still think he was the best candidate. IMO

Let's start here you idiot. Why is the 1.6 billion cut so important. If the federal government can't maintain the federal land the land could fall back to that state to which it is located. This article is from before he took office, gosh wonder why it would be an issue could it be it was part of his campaign plan.

https://thinkprogress.org/trump-energy-speech-pennsylvania-4bdb2314965e/

"We need an America-First energy plan,” Trump said. “This means opening federal lands for oil and gas production; opening offshore areas; and revoking policies that are imposing unnecessary restrictions on innovative new exploration technologies.”

That's from September 22 2016

You posting is simple boot licking. Now pack you shit up and shut the hell up. You cant be bother to search before fling shit. Well guess what it's all over you.

If you're actually interested here take some time and look into all of the "horrible things" Trump did. MOST of this crap is part of his reduction of bureaucracy, ie the "remove 2 regulations and replace them with one" stuff.

Just so you know coal miner's still can't just throw their shit into the water. Obama signed this bill into law on Dec of 2016, right before he left office. So all that really happened is the regulations were reverted to where they were just a few weeks earlier.

Was that so difficult? Again, why are you coming off like such a whiny bitch? Funny enough he never said a word about reducing national parks and that's exactly as I thought. No worries as I assume you're inebriated which is why your posts have gone from mellow to highly aggressive / reactionary so quickly. Sleep it off tough guy.

I never slung shit at you... take a look back at the posts and you'll see I actually said something like "I've never heard of this, and I'm not saying you're wrong, but could you source it?" Somehow you've taken that and turned it into some kind of rage-induced psychosis.

"That's exactly" what you thought keep twisting. You are wrong as shit now say "I was wrong for questioning your credibility, apparently you weren't lying". Because that what you need to say. You boot licking piece of crap.

Never once did I say you were lying. Get a grip buddy as you're about to go completely sideways. And again the sources you linked don't say what you think they say. I also love how you're now injecting "boot licker" because you think you've got some kind of moral superiority.
