"Hey judge...we have reason to believe this man has committed a crime and would like to secure a warrent"
"Ok. What crime do you think this man has committed?"
"I dunno, but he's associated closely with known criminals, is constantly defending himself in court and has done everything possible to avoid legal scrutiny. Everything he does looks guilty on the surface and their are persistent rumors of money laundering."
"So you want a warrant to violate a person's privacy and freedom but don't even know what crime you are investigating? Ok. Well, what evidence do you have that there has been a crime committed?"
"He seemingly has great wealth despite a life time of bankruptcies. He personally is working with Russian criminals and people who are known money launderers. This dossier, funded by his own Republican allies and utilizing a trusted intelligence source, suggests he and the top people in his campaign were compromised by Russian intelligence. We've had one of his employees under surveillance for awhile now and it sounds like illegal activities with the Russians includes several top people in his organization. This man also seems to confess to possibly illegal things every time he tweets. He continually makes statements in the media that suggest some of what we suspect is true. He and his entire staff lie about this constantly, even the people who have been in the swamp forever and know the consequences of lying."
"It sounds like he hires the best people. Get out of my courtroom and get on this case right now. But we have to do this by the book, because he's a very powerful man and everything we do will be closely scrutinized. Put Mueller on the case. You would have to be a complete fucking moron to distrust Mueller's incredible record of professional service. And he's a Republican, so... literally... only the most brain-damaged fucktard could be whipped into opposition to him.
