Elections Trump is rigging the Republican primary, by not having one

It's ok, they're shooting themselves in the foot with this.

It's very likely Trump will be a dead commodity by the time the election rolls around with all this mess going on. Depriving themselves of a primary just in case that happens means they're basically punting 2020.
 
The only serious challenge to an incumbent President in my lifetime was Reagan taking on Ford in 1976. To the best of my recollection, the two never met for debates.

Sitting Presidents don't do primary debates.

Here’s a rational piece of advice for you so you won’t be too disappointed in 2020. All of these investigations and impeachment talks by the Dems are only helping Trump. I know you won’t/can’t understand that with your mindset, but that’s how it’s going. America loves an underdog, Clinton’s popularity went through the roof after his “impeachment”. Most Americans said who gives a shit if he perjured himself about a blowjob, let me know when it’s actually a serious crime. Trump is being catapulted to new heights with these investigations within the sane vein. Can you imagine if Pelosi has to walk this back? The fresh faces will go on the spectrum and further split your party. Right now the Republicans have a plethora of things to rally around, the Dems....well just look at the candidate field. You might want to rethink you’re argument so you won’t be so disheartened later on. I think you cried wolf a little too much and now if this one doesn’t stick (which is looking everyday like it won’t) I don’t think the Dem party can come back from it. The Dems need a monumental defeat so they can pick up the pieces and rebuild the party. It’s not very inviting at the moment

This is what I’m thinking. Under normal circumstances the incumbent would be the best option. But considering everything that’s been happening it’s hard to know how Trump re-election will be perceived next year. I’m no Republican strategist but with all the quid pro quo and impeachment stuff happening I would wait a few months before putting all my chips in on a potential lame duck.

A presentation by the State's Criminal Records and Identification Bureau Chief compares Alaska's recently released crime statistics to national figures, with Alaska leading in several main violent and property crime categories.

The presentation was based on Alaska's uniform crime reporting results for the last several years, including 2017.

It analyzed Alaska's violent crime rates between 2007 and 2017, showing the rates of murder, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault to be significantly higher in Alaska than the national average by 2017.

The report showed Alaska's larceny theft, vehicle theft, and burglary rates as all being higher than the national average in 2017, with the most severe gap in the vehicle theft category.
