What is your argument? As far as I know, Trump has never been bankrupt. But hes had different businesses declare bankruptcy. Not quite the same thing. But is your argument that he isnt good at business or making money?

I had never seen the apprentice before and binge watched the first 3 seasons. It was pretty interesting to hear them discuss he has, well had since resigned from Trump Org, over 100 different businesses at the time of the first season, and he had additional ones before that were sold, etc.

Only 6 bankruptcies of over 100 businesses , never himself, over decades.

that is actually very impressive, as I just checked and 21% of private businesses fail in the first year, 48% after 5, and 61% after 10. Trump kills that average lol

He’s not good at business though. He inherited a lot of capital and he did well in real estate early on when everyone in real estate was doing well. When it crashed he went down with it.

But even back then it wasn’t his business acumen that made him successful. It was his willingness to do illegal shit and engage in lawfare to get away with it. The Art of the Deal was mostly him bragging about doing blatant slum lord shit.

He is good at making money though. He just doesn’t do it through business. He does it through scamming and conning. He really probably is the most successful flim-flam man of all time.

Its difficult to become a billionaire, even if you start with millions. Sometimes it just seems like reaching when it comes to guys like Trump or Musk and people argue that they're either con men or just got lucky somehow. As if you even know even 1% of the business deals he's been involved in.

This isnt me saying he's never done anything shady. But it seems like you're implying all of his money comes from criminal activities, which seems like a big stretch.

I didn’t say anything about getting lucky. Him and Elon got lucky in that they both inherited a bunch of seed money. Yes it’s true that they’re uniquely positioned to succeed and yes it’s true that that doesn’t guarantee success.

A whole lot of his success really does come from skirting the law and using his vast resources out lawyer his enemies. The man’s been running scams for decades now. Hell he’s ran literal pyramid schemes. Now he’s running crypto scams and openly taking bribes.

This isn’t conspiracy theory stuff either. The man quite openly brags about it. I would say he does have a real super power and that is that he’s made of Teflon.

The thing is, he has so debased the office of the Presidency i wonder if we forget that even his most innocuous moves would have been howled down as grounds for instantly and irreparably ruining the legacy of any other president

Just remove any implications of corruption for a second- merely the constant grifting of his fans with tacky shit, the Gold sneakers, the Trump playing cards and NFTs, Trump bibles, selling access to him via his fans paying for a seat at the mar a lardo dinner table- in any other president this would be a humiliating, derided spectacle of grift, self-abasement, and the complete trashing of the office of the presidency.
