Truth be told, its a horrible idea. The Libertarians are right about intervention on this front. The best course of action here is to just regulate immigration better and improve the pathway to citizenship. Meddling in other countries systems has not served us well, look at Haitii, Iran and even Iraq/Afghanistan.

But good point about Islam vs Catholicism. In Mexico you're not dealing with insane religious people who are willing to blow themselves up.

Wonder what he means by using the military. If he's talking about using their logistic capabilities then there's nothing wrong with that. Actually, that's the most efficient way to do it. Rounding people up in the streets doesn't make sense. Even if they put national guardsman on title 10 orders, they still can't legally detain them. Setting up checkpoints all over every major city is political suicide and people would get tired of that very fast, regardless of political leaning.
