These hearings are an insult to the people of the US. There really should be some decorum there. Its the same no matter which party is being confirmed, whats the point of it? We learn nothing about the candidate, just taxpayes dollars being flushed down the toilet.

With regards the non answer that was not always the case. In the past if people like Pam Bondi gave a series of non answers in areas of importance even the Republican Senators when given time to question would push on them and ask for clarity. And the person, like Pam Bondi would know her nomination was in real danger if she did not give at least an attempt to answer.

This is only a waste of time as the Magat caucus is intent of turning over all the Senate power to Trump and the Executive and thus allow the non answers.

Like most things in life, there is rarely a 'yes' or 'no' answer to a question. Most decisions in life are nuanced and it's no different here. If this TRULY mattered then the insistence of any politician asking questions like these at these so called hearings to keep answers to either or a yes or no would go away. In this particular instance, it doesn't matter. All of his picks will be confirmed no matter what. The only thing that matters in the confirmation process is who has the numbers. When Reps have control, they nominate Reps and they get confirmed, while the Dems cry about it. When Dems have control, they nominate Dems and they get confirmed, while Reps cry about it. We don't need days and days of questioning to get to the inevitable outcome.

They truly are. But I enjoy senate hearings tho, to see the senators and how they talk. It is crazy to me how a lot of these people (on both sides) get elected. Don’t care as much about the house cause simply so many members and they are from specific districts.

And if you say no, give an example of what you think is a good question you can ask to challenge a politician (of either stripe) on hypocrisy that you think would be acceptable or if not do you think you should just never question them on stuff they will deny or want to hide?
