This hearing is hilarious, especially given the context of what is happening in LA and the DEIsaster going on there.

Have a bunch of women senators scream that someone is concerned standards being lowered in the military. “How dare you!”

Btw it was pretty funny when Warren said he was gonna be in a position in which he would be needed to be making difficult choices every day. Lloyd Austin had major sugery, didn't notify anyone, and only a handful of people noticed lmao

Yup. The dems are completely tone deaf as to why Trump won and where the country is heading. I had mentioned in a couple posts in other threads about how providential the LA fires are, in terms of once again proving Trump is right about the water situation there, forest management, woke CA dems burning the state to the ground in the wake of his return.

This hearing just only highlights that, as the democrat Karens are on the verge of tears as Hegseth states lowered standards have reduced out effectiveness, and we need to be merit based.

They will criticize his ability to lead, when Biden has been demented for decades with little accountability, including over the pentagon, such as Austin going AWOL and no one noticing. Same leftists will be like “well he has a staff!”

While Pete is saying he will have a great staff to assist him.

Completely unhinged. So their strategy for 2026 and 2028 is to double down on everything that turned people off, make it clear they are trying to do everything they can to stop reforms the majority of Americans voted for.

Thankfully people are more in tune with these types of things now and it

Dems’ strategy today was to remind everyone that Hegseth cheated on his wife, drinks too much, and hates woke politics. Seriously, who cares? Watching Tim Kaine grill him about his affairs was one of the most embarrassing things I’ve ever seen. At one point, someone asked Hegseth to promise not to drink alcohol anymore. Absolutely ridiculous. It took way too long for anyone to bring up actual policies or what Hegseth plans to do as Secretary of Defense in terms of, you know, defense!! The dems were ridiculous for most of the hearing.

That said, Hegseth didn’t exactly shine either. He seemed unprepared at the start, giving non-answers early on, though he did improve as things progressed (or maybe the dems just got worse, hard to tell). And why did he struggle so much to articulate his stance on women in combat roles? Just say what you believe, just own it. Plenty of people agree with you anyway.

I respect Hegseth’s military background and academic credentials, and I agree with a lot of what he has to say but let’s be real: he has no experience. I get the appeal of wanting a different approach, I really do, but this is one of the most important jobs in the world. It takes more than strong opinions, a fresh perspective and good intentions to run the DoD. I’m skeptical but hoping he proves me wrong and does a fantastic job.

tldr: everyone sucks, God bless America.
