I'm far from a Trump supporter, but I have direct knowledge with CFPB as they regulate our industry. While I know they do a lot of good, they also have a lot of bullshit that makes zero sense. The TRID guidelines for the lender industry costs the average consumer quite a bit of money and they confuse more consumers than anything. The 5 page disclosure did not really serve it's purpose of giving consumers better notice on loan fees, cash to close, etc. Many of those numbers can change, and the "3 day rule" is a joke when you can just throw out bogus numbers anyhow. What it created was every single lender, title company, etc. to require new software. Preliminary CDs are the norm now which created extra work. All of these costs were passed to consumers.
