Opinion Trump and the UFC - Neutral Take...

Again, can you post the thread you started during BLM to complain about how political the NBA and NFL had gotten?

You've been here since 2002, so I'm sure you made one because you aren't a partisan.

I know you ignored me last time I asked, but I figured I'd ask again since you said you're not just cherry picking which posts to respond to.

I dont watch basketball or football. And I've never made a post, let alone a thread about them, on any capacity, because I simply don't follow those sports.

What are you even talking about?

Hes doing that thing he accused and projected onto you earlier. Running from other arguments but trying to bully you in a weak attempt. SMH

Just curious does any part of you feel that with how grossly & intellectually dishonest the MAGA cultist have responded to your fair & balanced argument that there is legit danger & risk with aligning with them????

Or even not joining the opposition against them????

What is most remarkable is how blind people are to their own ideological indoctrination.

People here actually are talking as if being pro-Trump was any less ideologically enveloped than being a Wokelord liberal moralist, when that has nothing to do with what I'm saying. And yet even though I endorse neither the democratic party nor republicans and have said I didn't vote for Kamala, people immediately think this is about defending Trump from a salty liberal or whatnot. They generate a caricature and strawman, and begin to argue against an imaginary boogeyman:

"It's funny how them libs endorsed the NBA but now they have a problem with Trump calling him and us fascists when they are the fascists!

"Hahahaha! You lost the culture war you salty lib!"

As if it was not possible to have a criticism of sports-ran propaganda irrespective of political stance.

I don't think it's the same at all. Democrats expect their politicians to be perfect, in fact one of the reasons Harris lost is because there were a lot on the left that weren't excited to vote for her. Some said she wasn't progressive enough, others said she is too close to the Cheneys, others said she is enabling a genocide, etc. When Biden showed he wasn't capable of debating the left collectively pressured him out. You just don't see that on the right. There's something about the modern day right that just falls in line no matter what Trump says or does. From 2016 to 2020 if you made any criticism of Trump the only response would be "TDS". I'm willing to bet we'll see a return to that in the following years. I think the both sides thing doesn't apply here.

I fully agree in that the American "left" has lost the plot and been in exorbitant need for restructuration for a while, to no avail, and that the right has been far more efficient and intelligent in their strategic positioning. But that's not what this thread is about, yet people are making it appear as if I was speaking as a disgruntled liberal who is salty that he lost the 'culture wars' and am now offended by Trump's presence in the UFC. That shows a level of ideological veil that despite my repeated efforts will not be corrected.

People are simply clouded.

Actually, this thread shows up the full hypocrisy of the left.

Celebrity endorsements, people with power having their say fine, until some of them aligned right. Then it's not OK.

Weird that

not really lol

I dont watch basketball or football.

He's been associated with the fight game for a long time and people love him. Deal with it. Watch the NBA and listen to LeBron James and Steve Kerr.

If it walks and quacks like a duck

Who cares. They're all shit. Prices aren't going to go down, this guy was already in office before, and America wasn't paved with golden streets. In 4 more years it'll be the same shit all over again. And then 4 years after that. None of them care about us. I didn't vote for him because he's a moron but I'm holding him to his word. This wasn't a fate of the world election.
Amen to this. People act like some magician will take over and change their bum lives. Sure, gas and grocery prices are a thing but there are countless things you can change in your life right fucking now regardless of who’s in office. Get more skills, stop being a lazy fat ass and get in shape, stop having horrendous spending habits and so on. Trump nor Biden will help you with massive credit card/ car debt, diabetes or get you a pay raise. Politicians are pos, we as humans are greedy fuckers. Only you care about yourself.

Actually the UFC wouldn't even exist if it were not for Trump.

He was the first to offer his venues to host fights. Trump's been a lifelong UFC fan

Yes. If not for Tromp UFC would have went down. Damn John McCain campaigned hard to get it banned.

Yep that's another clear difference to me.
Clearly proves it's not a cult. They rejected multiple leaders that didn't reflect the values or mantra in action.
You would never see that on the MAGA side
Well maybe we will if/when the tariffs hit..lol hahahaha. Too late then. Let them have their scarlet letter. Wish the poors that voted for him the best. May they get exactly what they signed up for.

Not everyone is poor who voted for him. I don't want to hear about de-supporting police, institutionalized racism, gender, pronouns, or why voters can't get ID cards. I don't want to hear a peep about any of that. Nothing. I also want all immigrants to follow the legal path to citizenship and I want immigrants caught entering our country illegally removed from our population and deported as quickly as possible. I want DEI removed from all levels of government, state and federal. I'm over any of that and whatever party gets a handle on the above instantly gets my vote. I'm tired of this social media frenzy, dei, and illegal immigration BS.

Other things I want but I'm not sure either side is smart enough to actually handle:
  • Efficiency within our defense industry.
  • Term limits (across the board)
  • Debt reduction/elimination
  • International economic policy corrections (but I'm not smart enough here either).
  • Quit talking about MFing aliens.

Yes the cultural elitism for sure has been rubbing lots of folks wrong for some time. I must say though, it's hard not to question the intellect of millions of people who believe in made up "issues" like migrant crime and election fraud. This is also the same demographic that eschews things like climate science, renewable energy, and conservationism.

It's also about messaging. The right is much better at it. Kamala's platform was, "I'm not him", and that's just not enough. Trump's platform is aimed largely at immigration, and not surprisingly, you start talking about mass deportation, and the middle of the country gets all fired up and frothy. It's red meat to them, and Trump knows how to push those buttons. He also tapped into evangelical demo, which is interesting because I never considered him to be a religious person.
There will be equally dumb people believing dumb shit on the far left

Left leaning people just have a bad habit, in this day and age, as far as I can see of asserting intellectual and moral superiority over everyone else

We had an example on this forum prior to the US election and the Teamsters thread, including a mod from here

I was trying to explain to them that telling everyone who doesn't have the same staunch political views as themselves that they are racist idiots won't help bring more people to their side of the aisle. And how did that play out?

For reference, I think Trump is a buffoon
