International Trump admin - Sure, bring your lions back.....

Ins't there only 20 or so Black Rhino's left?

Having lion hunts poachers is a much more sustainable practice, in fact I would call it peak renewable resource. The lions don't have to hunt as many meerkats and frogs, and we get rid of very unwanted elements of society.

These people defending this are going with the "You need po- hunting!!!!! to help the lions!!! Killing all these lions is really conservation!!" line...............

This is a compelling argument for those of us who believe in the value of game management. People will likely pay more to bring back trophies and programs need funding. For example, there's this 11% excise tax on firearms, ammunition and archery equipment.

The Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act of 1937, most often referred to as the Pittman–Robertson Act for its sponsors, Nevada Senator Key Pittman and Virginia Congressman Absalom Willis Robertson, was signed by Franklin D. Roosevelt on September 2, 1937 and became effective on July 1 of the following year.[1][2][3][4] It has been amended many times with several of the major ones taking place during the 1970s[1][2][3][5] and the most recent taking place in 2000.[6]

Prior to the creation of the Pittman–Robertson Act, many species of wildlife were driven to or near extinction by commercial/market hunting pressure and/or habitat degradation from humans.[5] The Act created an excise tax that provides funds to each state to manage such animals and their habitats. Notable species that have come back from the brink since the implementation of this act include white-tailed deer, wild turkey, and wood ducks.[1][4][5]

The planet is dead in 10 years anyways why care ? #nomorekidswithoutgreendeal

If they want to be hunting for conservation, they should be hunting small cats, feral dogs, pigs, goats, rabbits, foxes, camels, horses, buffalo and deer that have been introduced to ecosystems where they don't belong.

Black rhinos are. There are only about a thousand left in the world.

And yet....

I read they granted one black rino import permit

without looking into this at all, my guess is, the animal was past his breeding age and the guy payed close to a million to kill and...

I've hunted big game in Africa (plains game) the number of palms that get greased that have nothing to do with the hunt is mind blowing

Imagine being such a scumbag that you actually want to kill a black rhino lol

the scumbags are the poachers not the people paying the governments and the PH's, the the trackers etc, etc, etc.....

I think you missed my point
the want part? people collect all kinds of things and want to fill in the missing pieces, trophy hunters are no different.
I know lots of people with game rooms filled with mounts from around the world, myself included

whatever that guy paid for the rino saved way more

I will say personally, I had a goal of killing a huge bull elephant but the more I learned about the animal, their hierarchy and watching how they live as a community, no way could I do it now

I was raised don’t kill it unless you plan on eating it. That’s how I’ll be raising my son too.

I find it tactful and think less of people who are trophy hunters. But I also think it should be legal. Some things are better handled via the court of public opinion and this is one of them ...imo.

Yes, wanting to kill a critically endangered species. If funding conservation is your goal, maybe just give them money? No, the point is to kill that specific creature. Which is ghoulish imo.

I would be willing to bet the animal taken was past his breeding age or had another breeding problem. they didn't kill one an endangered animal for sport only

why are you green again what happened to the blue?

They killed it because that guy had an ass ton of money, and they need money.
