If a division is full of guys who are equally skilled, then the division is stacked? What if they're all just equally shit?

No, it wasn't. Dana often called LHW and the MW divisions stacked as a means of promoting a fight. Look at most of Anderson's wins, they were against good fighters but almost no great fighters (except for Vitor and possibly Franklin).

Compare that to Aldo where most of his wins has been against great fighters (Mendes 2x, Edgar, Faber, and so on).

False. When Silva was killing the division it was considered weak. LHW was considered very strong.

Now Jones is killing LHW. So all the LHW's jumped to middleweight and now its a "stacked" division.

Pretty much. I've heard people saying that LHW is a 'weak' division despite a shitload of talent going on there. You've also got people that are either true LHW cutting down to MW or chubby HWs that ought to be LHW. It's been called the marquee division before so it sounds like haterade.

These kinds of things were never, never said before Jones started putting people away left and right. It was also said during Anderson's reign but I can't say if people were talking up MW before he came up.

Either way, LW has probably been the most talent rich for the longest time, especially before the merger. Imo it should be the most heavily promoted weightclass because the champion there without doubt is one of the most skilled fighters on the planet bar none. More so than HW, LHW, MW imo. WW is razor close and FW has *recently* been stellar but not in the past.

cmon cb has done a lot for himself before the machida fight. he was winning many fights and beating several top guys where he was an underdog.
