srsly, paulie talking shit?
dude knows the game better than you, bro.
shitty stoppage IMO.
but dude didn't help himself by doing the worm.
No harm at all in counting all the way to ten. If he's up you take a look and see what condition he's in. If he doesn't get up it's over. Stopping at eight is pointless.
He was up by the 8 count.I don't care if he knows it better than me.. there's somebody that knows the game better than him...which is most world class boxers... that would disagree with him..
That man layed flat on his back, struggled to balance himself on all 4's, and then stumbled when he stood between 8-9... that's a good stoppage.. you wanna keep fighting.. get up earlier..act like it...
So.. give him more time taking a look? The 10 seconds is the looking period.. taking more time is doing it wrong.
No it's not. Fighters get 10 seconds to get up. Then the ref wipes their gloves and checks if they can take a step forward and usually asks if they want to continue.
You know this.
That's shit refs.. The the 8 count was instituted to halt the action and give the ref a chance to look at a fighter.. Fighters used to wait just behind the ref for the opponent to get up and begin fighting immediately...
the count is being used wrong by dumb refs now.. in some cases, this has lead to enough recovery time for the opponent to make the difference in the fight..
