I watched the Super Mario Bros movie recently for the first time since I was a kid. My god it is a special kind of terrible piece of shit. But it's crazy because back when it came out when I was like 9 I fucking LOVED it.

There's this scene in Battlefield Earth that I really thought gave the movie some weight.

The blonde protagonist is trying to secretly read books, and alien overlord John Travolta finds out about it. You think he's gonna punish the blonde guy, but instead he drags him to a giant library and he says something to the effect of "when we took over your planet, all your armies with all their knowledge only lasted for 5 minutes before they were wiped out. So go ahead and read all the books you want, it won't help you."

I sorta liken that to a fighter studying endless tape of your opponent...sometimes if you're good enough, searching for weaknesses doesn't do jack shit.

I'm a fan of good bad movies and there's simply too many to list, mostly 80s action, horror and some comedy as well. However I will give this recommendation, it's a very good example. You guys need to check it out.
