If some consenting adult, or some consenting child and their family make a decision along with their doctor and a reputable University Med School to, for example, remove (or not remove ) healthy breast tissue? Maybe Shapiro could just mind his f#$king business.

There are what, 10,000 of these surgeries per year in the US? a small fraction of those are under 18 and a small fraction of those occur at this University. (Glutches pearls!)

But, a million DEAD from Covid 19 at that’s a “nothing Burger” to the right.

What about the children? Fine, about 1 in 7 children in the US experienced abuse or neglect in the last year, per the CDC. Where is Shapiro on this? Why the intense interest the sexual identities and sexual medical decisions of minors and their families?

Children are not allowed to buy alcohol, serve in the military until they are adults. Why should they be allowed to permanently alter their body preventing them from ever having children if they are not legal adults? Don't forget the increased likelihood of some cancers.

I was reading about that this morning, and I knew that. Hadn't thought much about it, but a deceased doctor in my parents neighborhood was a sex change surgeon. He was a wealthy guy. I don't know much about his business practices though. Hope he didn't perform sex change operations on young kids, along with prescribing dangerous hormone drugs.

There's no "better" than the other. There are more female teachers in schools than churches but a lot of that child abuse doesn't really make it to MSM. A lot does, but a lot is covered up. We don't have many female priests and I don't know how many trans people in religious authority...if any? Be a good study. We accept gay vicars and women vicars so hopefully we start accepting trans folk.

I think you're mistaken about that. It's considered to be elective surgery and insurance rarely covers it. They typically have to pay out of pocket for it. Many get the money from sex work actually.

it's going for the kids that's the big money maker. you don't need no 48 year old dude, you get him for a couple decades at most, you need a ten year old kid that has his surgeries by 16 so you get him for many decades to come. millions upon millions.

Thanks for the source. As far as I can tell from researching it, insurance is more likely to cover hormone blockers and hormones than surgeries. Those are typically considered elective. Also, local, state and federal law varies greatly. And the healthcare policies of those individual areas.

We are going through an unprecedented stressful time around the world. As with many of my plastic surgeon colleagues, most of my surgeries are on hold as they are on the list of the so-called "elective" surgeries. This includes gender-affirming surgeries for gender dysphoria patients.

Gender-affirming surgeries are life-changing procedures that give transgender individuals the physical appearance and functional abilities of the gender they know themselves to be. To have those surgeries delayed can be devastating to patients, but these surgeries will still happen once elective surgeries resume.

That's the main reason why I'm on the left now. Single-payer healthcare is my #1 issue. I've had nightmare scenarios with our mafia middleman insurance system. People die because of lack of insurance in my country. They go into bankruptcy because insurance won't cover serious illnesses. The entire system is inefficient and corrupt.

If I lived in a place like you live and didn't have to worry about these things, perhaps I'd still be aligned with the right like you seem to be here. I'm aware that you have some left-wing views, but most of the time that doesn't come through in your posts.

While I believe healthcare should be supplied for citizens of a wealthy country, america has gone far beyond that imo. Its not about your social reforms or whatever, its about the deep bond between your financial sector and politicians. While this is true in alot of countries, you guys seem to have ramped it up to 11, like you are cosplaying as some 3rd world country.

As to why some people perceive me as right wing, Its probably a mix of me liking to joke around(I know sarcasm is hard on the internet, but its a scandinavian staple humor), and me not leaning into far left rhetoric. If I'm right, it's occurrence won't be brought about by any type of new moral impetus or concern for child safety or the rights of women, but as your post indicated, money will determine the how viable this type of medical practise is. I think that's how Repressed Memory Syndrome (brought to you by The Science) got kicked to the curb. Not because it was harmful to people, not because they realized there was no third sex that has been hiding in plain sight this whole or that you can transmogrify yourself into a different sex by becoming a permeant medical thrall, but because there was no money in it anymore.

If these people and organizations are harmed enough by the lawsuits that are already happening in the UK that will eventually get to Canada and the United States, then it's game over. The Bottom Line is the god of all corporate endeavor. There isn't very much they won't sacrifice on that altar.
