At it's best, Islam respects and protects women. It honors motherhood, it encourages women to get educated, children are seen as a gift from God and the men are willing to sacrifice their lives for wives and daughters. The problem is that the bad of Islam is exaggerated and sensationalized through media while we rarely hear about the good. Most of those "gender nonconforming" respondents are women who aren't content to be straight and cisgender because that is lame despite the fact that they are indeed straight and cisgender. I know of one such girl, her pronouns are they/them and she's always talking about how cute this or that woman is to constantly signal same sex attraction so you'd think she's some non-binary lesbian or something. But if you look at her dating history she has exclusively dated white dudes, about as vanilla as it gets. They won't even eat pussy to keep up the act, much less pay for an expensive GRS.
