Social Trans people being removed from the military by Trump for being mentally unfit.

There are a fuckload of people in the military with mental health problems though. Fuck if they kicked everyone with PTSD out they'd barely have anyone left.

The question should be are they fit to serve or not.
Well then how would someone with already existing mental health issues deal with the added possibility of PTSD, which is common in the military?

Why add people with an already high risk profile?

2016 blanket policy was repealed by Trump in 2017 then reinstated by Biden in 2020. Now repealed again.

Yeah, but my point is they were serving still during Trump's entire term, he didn't kick existing enlisted out.

Should women with daddy issues be rejected from the military too?
What is the medical term for "daddy issues"? How is that comparable with a mental health condition that drives you to mutilate yourself by cutting off your sexual organs? Are you really this mentally incapable to differentiate?

Just send them to Thailand... Operation Bangkok

Arent the doctors doing it equally crazy? What about all THE People supporting it. Should they be excluded from the military too? It's a slippery slope.

That's fair. Not sure what changed except maybe unifying thoughts and removing DEI stuff but either way its a fair comment.

It's just political and has nothing to do with their actual ability. That's really all there is to it.
He could have just done the same as before though. At the time he could have done the same as now. Ultimately, there are many barred from serving due to mental and physical issues we already spoke on that and they could be successful. Thats not the issue.

Can't say I believe this to be true, where the military has removed over ten thousand active service members over changes in mental health qualifications. Have individuals been removed over changes in physical or mental health standards as they are discovered? Perhaps, but not en masse like this.

I do not have the numbers and definitely not en masse as you say. I had epilepsy and could not serve when I was young. I have no experience as to what develops and how they handle it after the fact. I could not join without their knowledge as I took dilatin to control it and basic would have identified me because you cant take your meds with you. For others that develop things after I can't say.

But these things aren't covered by veteran's insurance already.

Even with private insurance it's not easy to get these types of procedures covered, it takes many years and thousands in out of pocket expenses. Just like every other medical condition insurance agencies make you try literally everything else first.

Apparently you can get a waiver if a doctor considers it medically necessary and the military will cover it.

The ban would grandfather in current service members.

Severe mental illness, which is why I always found it annoying that trannies were lumped in with gays - they've actually got more in common with this fucker here than a gay person.

Homosexuality used to be considered a mental illness in the DSM.

Serious question. I see many bring up that trans are not deployable due to their, "medical needs". Is this truly the case? If so, why are we staffing them in military roles to begin with? There's only so many desk jobs and pencil pushing available.
Even a cook will have to pick up a rifle if it gets bad enough. There are no desk jobs. You’re are a soldier. That’s the thing.
