All Lego are expensive lol.it's fuckin expensive for lego my dude.
my friend drives a McLaren so he can swing it. I...cannot.
It's fucking huge! He's gonna build the death star hanger bay, the LCD light kit and stick it into a coffee table. All Lego are expensive lol.
But yes, that one is I think their most expensive kit. But fuck me that would be a BLAST to put together and look incredible when done.

I purchase some Legos sets but we are talking in the 100-150 price range. 900 bucks for a Lego set? Wife would divorce me. LolAh, yes , your " friend"

Do NOT open the boxes. I believe the death star is a collectable now and discontinued? The Falcon should be discontinued soon as well. Apparently lego appreciates in value pretty well.Target had a price error on their site several years ago. Got the set for about 65% off along with the big Death Star set. I was surprised they honored it. Both are still in my closet, don’t have time to build big sets that are huge. Sometimes I just look at the boxes and checkout the features. It’s impressive how far Lego has come - they even make plants/flowers set now.

Were these used in areas that got lots of sun? I have sets that have been assembled for literally 30 years and I just went and checked and the bricks aren't degraded and still have functional grip. But they've also been in an interior room that gets very limited sunlight.I posted before about Lego pieces crumbling and the clutch power diminishing due to the plastic degrading. Buy stocks or mutual funds instead of unopened Lego sets.
I used to order Lego Technic pieces, especially interesting new pieces, for use with normal household stuff in lieu of expensive 3D printing. Even the snap coupler pieces will shatter. I feel like a fool for spending so much money on these pieces that crumble after a few years.
The only older pieces that crumbled were transparent, kept indoors inside plastic tub, maybe closer to the ceiling so probably got hot in the summer. Were these used in areas that got lots of sun? Man, that sucks. I'm not plugged in on the LEGO scene anymore, it's disappointing to hear that a childhood favorite might not be holding up anymore. The only older pieces that crumbled were transparent, kept indoors inside plastic tub, maybe closer to the ceiling so probably got hot in the summer.
The many that crumbled were bought within the past 15 yrs from Lego Bricks and Pieces or Pick A Brick, kept indoors, not exposed to light, some inside plastic tub, close to ground level, not near walls that can get hot from sunlight. I bought a ton of Mixel balljoint pieces from Lego Store and those ball and socket pieces are super loose if they don't just break and crumble. Maybe both new and old "C" clamp pieces broke. Talking about the pieces similar to the minifigure hands. The minifigure feet will crack too. I used to display the minifigures, like from Lego Dimensions, holding their weapon or whatever, but not anymore due to fear of the hands cracking.
I call shenanigans. I still have lego from 40 years ago...and it's fine. Some colors get a fade that's about it.I posted before about Lego pieces crumbling and the clutch power diminishing due to the plastic degrading. Buy stocks or mutual funds instead of unopened Lego sets.

Yeah, there's NO WAY that my wife will ever let this cross our doorstep!![]()
Believe what you want. I said the old transparent pieces crumbled and the opaque pieces from the past 15 yrs ordered straight from Lego or from Lego Store Pick A Brick either crumbled, cracked, or became too lose to have clutch power. Not left under the sun.I call shenanigans. I still have lego from 40 years ago...and it's fine. Some colors get a fade that's about it.
I suppose this could be the case but all the lego my son plays with is a mix of either shit recently purchased in the past 4 years or it's the stuff I actually played with which is 40 years old. Nothing has crumbled.Believe what you want. The most recent broken pieces were Technic and I never really bought Technic many years ago as a kid. Talking Technic beam, snap coupler.
Maybe you didn't see the news within the past few years about Lego pursuing some ecofriendly plastic replacement then abandoning the plan after not being able to come up with something good. Even before that people were saying the brown pieces were fragile.
