Movies Tourette's Guy At Award Show...

Then he shouldn't be there. It sucks for him but he needs to be in the back where no one can hear him or something like that or just watch from a TV in back room. Nobody should have to hear horrible insults shouted at them during this time just to accommodate him and his disease.

A film that was nominated for awards was about his life. Of course he should be allowed to be there.

^^^How did you call my theory bad when I said this same thing you are saying here.

The issue with your theory is that everyone knows what the N word is so he doesn't need friends making him aware of it. He knows it's inappropriate to say the word in that circumstance which is exactly why his condition makes him do it.

The whole thing is kind of funny. His movie is all about his condition and how it ruined his life growing up, all to have these same people(some at least) honoring him act offended when his condition kicks in at the worst moment, which is basically what the film was about. They learned nothing. It's like a modern fable about the follies of human nature, LOL. Like a funny version of "The Old Woman and The Snake".

I have a form of tourettes that doesn't involve saying words, but it freakin sucks. Ticks that disrupt my breathing. lasting hours and sometimes days. Twitching. facial ticks, arm jolting and shruggs, muscles contracting making me squeeze my fists over and over or pushing my thumb into my hands/pointer finger until it's sore and still unable to stop. squeaking noises that go from a low to higher note over and over like 40 times a minute once it gets going.

It really freakin sucks. Screws with me being able to fall asleep. And trying to be normal around people is like trying to hold in a fart while there's a fly buzzing in your ear and someone tickling u while ur brain is telling urself to try and not react to it.

I assume this is some kind of satire?

Pathetic.
He is disabled and because of that he shouldn’t have been allowed to attend the ceremony involving the movie based on his life with this disease that has negatively impacted him since childhood.

He caused a disturbance by yelling words. This should never have been allowed to happen!!1!

It's a well known and accepted thing in the UK. I guess Americans aren't as well educated on it judging from the reactions?
Mental health in general is basically in the dark ages here. There's still tons of stigma around mental illness so you get a lot of people self medicating and refusing to admit they have problems. People here aren't even good about acknowledging and dealing with their own mental health issues much less anyone elses.

It’s not really a mental health thing.

Worked with a girl that had it maybe 5 years ago. She would randomly bark like a dog or make weird noises. It looked just awful to have to deal with, since you know the average person here is kind of a dumb fuck when it comes to anything unusual.

It's funny that anyone could think having to hear random naughty words with no intent behind them is worse than having a condition like that. People sure can be some selfish little shits when it comes to having to go through even mild discomfort.

I watched this movie years ago. It's not meant to be a comedy but I was laughing out loud at all the parts where the little girl is randomly swearing, especially the part where she shouts "f*gg*t" when her friend gets up to do a presentation in class or something.

i liked it better when the marks were on the other side of the ropes, brother

That's a good one that I've heard said many different ways over time. Is what you wrote a direct quote because I'm trying to play a movie back in my head trying to match the words with the face? I'd guess either Undertaker or Hulk Hogan. Just guessing. "Brother" narrows it down a little bit but so many wrestlers use that term toward each other. Vince Russo is more like, "Let me tell you something, bro..." Thanks.
