With his 30+ flying/complex submissions plus fighting in 4 divs etc I’d pick him as 1 of 10 to rep sub grappling

Im a big fan of Aoki but definitely had me wondering. He is often overlooked in terms of his career legacy.

It gets tough after this, you can do Volk, Usman, Islam, Aldo, Cruz, Izzy, Holloway, Stipe, Hendo, Chuck, Couture, Penn etc. No real obvious answers in my opinion. Give it 5 years and we might have a clearer answer.

Usman does not belong among the rest of those names. Maybe with penn but absolutely nothing further.

Why do we need to have this kind of discussion? Who cares who the top 10 are. Especially since there's no real way to prove it. Why not just accept each fighter for who they are and what they did without this subjective comparison between what they accomplished versus what other fighters may have?

I’m not one to bash fighters and call them overrated but I honestly do not understand how Usman is ranked so high by so many people/media. He had a great run and was a strong champion without a doubt. Easily a top 5 if not top 3 WW of all time.

But, a top 10 of all time fighter??? No Aldo, Cruz or BW? Other double champs like Poatan, or Cejudo? Idk it’s just insane to me to not have those guys in there before Usman.

Really weird list- if it took into account impact on the sport/popularity I’d get it more but then where is Conor, Forrest etc?
