5. Anderson Silva - 38 years 2 months
4. Jan Blachowicz - 38 years 8 months
3. Daniel Cormier - 40 years 4 months
2. Glover Texeira - 42 years 8 months
1. Randy Couture - 45 years 4 months

It makes me appreciate what these fighters accomplished in this perspective. Yes, they have losses on their record but it’s their will to take on challenges against younger and hungrier opponents that make their legacy well remembered.

It's too bad that Jon Jones almost certainly won't fight again before he joins that list.

Your body instantly turns against you when you hit 30. Think about Couture kicking ass at heavyweight at 45. This guy is the GOAT.

Randy gets forgotten in the all time great rankings, or mentions here. His career was up and down, but you have to consider his age when he accomplished what he did. He started later, but had lots of miles from boxing+wrestling before mma. He sort of entered in his physical prime and left his most skilled. Probably would've been a MW today.

It’s surreal to think that he continued to fight against terrifying and younger opponents than him like Brock Lesnar, and a technical craftsman who was much younger than him like Machida. Randy was willing to risk it all.

I remember when Glover lost to Jones and then Phil Davis and people kinda wrote him off. He had a few tough losses here and there after and then had that amazing run and win against Jan. Even his loss to Jiri was still an amazing performance. Love that guy.

Definitely his health, by the time he retired his chin was gone. His last couple years were very hard fights. He was one of the few people I didn't mind wall and stalling, because he was so old and the underdog. I still think Randy vs Fedor when he was trying to get it would've been competitive. His gameplans and fight iq are pretty underrated.

Anderson Silva continued to fight out of love for the sport, and his love for the sport is what made his legacy. Fighters will be remembered for their heart and desire to compete and take on challenges. It’s been over 40-50 years and people still remember Tyson, Duran, Hagler not because of their records but their ferociousness.

DC doesn’t count considering he should’ve never been champion and never really was

Are we only counting when they lost them or when they won them?

He knocked out the hw champion. That tends to be enough.
He poked him in the eye and then handily lost the next 2 fights without that advantage.

DC’s been #2 his whole life
