He just scored another epic knockout and he might be retiring, so let's discuss our favorite fights featuring one of the all time greats.
Arona/Henderson - Arona is one of my all time favorites and his grappling skills were second to none; in particular his top game was legendary. This fight is a grappling masterpiece, as the smaller Hendo repeatedly manages to escape from the bottom and even threatens with a choke of his own. Very close and exciting fight.
Big Nog/Henderson 2 - Everything I said about the Arona fight goes double for this one. That fight and this one show what an amazing grappler Hendo was when he was younger. Some of his escapes and reversals defy belief here. Nog has a chip on his shoulder from losing the first fight and he comes out with something to prove but he gets all he can handle from a guy 40 lbs smaller. Keep in mind Nog was the #1 fighter in the world at this time. This may be Dan's best performance ever.
Rampage/Henderson - Great battle between two of the best chins in the history of the sport. Rampage said it hurt his hands to hit Hendo's head. This was Quinton's peak era as a fighter, I think; his boxing and in particular his counter-punching have never been better. This is one of the best light heavyweight title fights in UFC history.
Shogun/Henderson 1 - This fight could get a coma patient's pulse pounding. I've shown it to multiple people with zero interest in MMA who have been enthralled by it. This one definitely played a key role in breaking the formerly granite chins of both men. Epic.
Bisping/Henderson - TUF bad blood gave this one a great storyline and it culminated with probably the single most iconic and perfect knockout in MMA history.
