Top 3 fights that made you happiest?

Only gonna list UFC:
Shogun vs Hendo 1, just being scheduled completed me, let alone the fight being one of the best ever
Moreno vs Figgy 2, outcome had me running around like crazy screaming "The Baby Assassin!!" probably waking up some neighbors.
Sanchez vs Ellenberger, was there live, Diego's famous cross entrance and a really fucking good fight, was too high to notice the fight occurring next to me in audience but was told it was violent.
ellenberger vs sheilds had me stoked cause i was big on ellenberger at the time.
Hughes smashing Trigg after Trigg tried to take the finishes because of the missed nut shot and then hughes coming back and making him pay the price.
Conor beating diego brandao was pretty dope and gsp(my fav) coming back after the long lay off to grab the second belt was dope too although I still demand to see him fight silva

Arlovski vs Browne
Fedor vs Sylvia
Big Nog vs Schaub
Aye, those 3 were all potential candidates in my head, which is why I decided "recent fights only"

Well, AA vs Browne was the same year as CC vs GG 2, so...
I was so happy for Arlovski, especially since he got dropped pretty badly earlier in the fight...
Browne became kind of a meme because of Ronda, and because he looked like shit in his last couple fights, but he was a baaaad motherfucker at one point

When he was on that 3 fights win streak with brutal first round KOs over Gonzaga (when it still mattered), Ubereem (same) and Barnett (with those vicious, and controversial, elbows against the cage), loooooots of sherdoggers were talking about "new breed HW", "next champion right here" , "Bigfoot KO loss was obviously a fluke, like BF's KOs over Ubereem and Fedor, 9/10 Silva would have lost, let's be real yo".

And when it comes to Fedor/Tim Sylvia & Big Nog/Schaub, no need to add anything, those were truly magical moments.

A last one that may be cheesy, but it's alright... Minowaman winning the Super Hluk GP

Sokoudjou didn't have the same aura he did after smashing top 3 Lil'Nog and top 5 Arona in PRIDE, but he wasn't completely washed just yet, sure he had just lost to Mousasi in Strikeforce (one of the fights from Affliction 3 that were thankfully salvaged), but Gegard was a true elite fighter at that point.

Even if Soko would beat Jan Blachowicz 2 years later, the Mousasi fight was, IMO, the last fight in which he was considered a top fighter going in.
But in the Super Hluk GP he still looked fearsome, smashing and keeping on hitting after the belt against resident HLUKS Bob Sapp and Jan Nortje...

So getting KO'd by resident HLUKS-buster Minowaman was beautiful, like the end of a shonen arc when the weaker protagonist goes super saiyan against the fearsome Big Bad and does this:

Truly a feelgood moment for lots of us...

Shocked no one has said Bisping - Rockhold 2 yet. I remember a lot of people being real happy on the boards after that.

EDIT My mistake — someone did bury a Bisping - Rockhold reference in their multiparagraph musings. But technically since they didn't specify which one...

Actually how did i forget. Bisping beating Rockhold was glorious

Shogun vs. Machida - Just a monumentally awesome fight of styles. Did not even care who won.

CroCop vs. Gonzaga 2 - Because the first bout broke my godamn heart.

Rory vs. Lawler - Was a test of wills and a test of heart.

I could go back further but those are the three that came to mind in my semi-sober state.

Came here to see:
Ronda vs Holm/Nunes
Conor vs Diaz/Khabib/Porier 2/Porier 3
Bisping vs Hendo/Belfort
Leaving disappointed...

Silva vs Chael 1 and 2
Page vs Wand all 4
Page vs Chuck 1
Anytime Mike Pyle got ktfo
Randalman vs Cro Cop 1 ( Mauros freak out was priceless) plus Fedor reacting backstage was amusing. He was always a little giddy when Mirko got hurt.

Excellent point about Shogun/Machida 2, I felt terrible for poor Mauricio after their first fight, and the second fight healed all the pains.
In my 16 years of sherdoggin' (and this is only my second account, not too shabby) the aftermath of the first fight was probably the only time that so many on the forum were united in a wave of "that's not right".

I've always said that Machida could have won a looooooooooot of fans had he acted differently during the time period during the 2 bouts...
Even the most die-hard Shogun nuthuggers would have cut him some slack is instead of going "eeeeh, well Joe, the 3 judges said that I win fight, so I win fight, I want to thank my trainers, great victory", he would have given Rua some props and guaranteed an immediate rematch, since it was going to happen anyway.

Well, what's done is done, and Lyoto refusing to admit that the decision was surprising was part of the fuel in favor of Rua for the rematch.
That post-fight interview was magical, from "never lost a round" to knocked the fuck out, and Mauricio being so happy... the crowd was insane, really wish I was there for that one. (not complaining, I've been to a bunch of UFC events live, but that one was extra special to me)

Imagine if during Jones vs Gus 2, if instead of uberJJ toying with Alex and finishing him while spilling roids all over the stage, imagine is Gus had just walked through him in the first round and KO'd him with punches, seems unbelievable? (fuck I was looking for a recent example, JJ/Gus 2 was already 3 years ago?? <6>)

Shocked no one has said Bisping - Rockhold 2 yet. I remember a lot of people being real happy on the boards after that.

EDIT My mistake — someone did bury a Bisping - Rockhold reference in their multiparagraph musings. But technically since they didn't specify which one...

Indeed, but it was more of a "happy that Luke lost" than "happy that Bisping won", and for it to be a real feelgood fight, both criteria need to be there IMHO

Lots of old timers didn't really like Bisping for a bunch of reasons; was a dickhead on TUF (both as a contestant & a coach), Matt Hamill decision, talked too much shit against Hendo so H-bomb was 100% deserved, spitting on Jorge Riviera's corner, etc etc...

The undying love for Bisping is quite a recent phenomenon caused by that crazy fight against Anderson, followed by that insane KO against Luke to grad the belt, followed by "avenging" his old loss to Hendo (who himself was become waaaaay less popular than he was during their first fight, so lots of newer fans were happy about that one), and then putting his MW belt on the line trying to take on the other UFC GOAT, Georges St-Pierre.

He lost, but had he won, damn that would have been a GOATist row... Anderson, champion Luke Rockhold, Hendo, GSP?
Sure, AS, Hendo & GSP were all washed up (and Luke probably wins 9 fights out of 10) but on paper it would have been one of the greatest 4 fights streak in MMA history.

Weidman vs Silva 2
Sooooo good

McGregor vs Aldo
The unnecessary hammer fists
The corner men screaming in agony
Greatness revealed

Was hoping this would end WMMA for good but still satisfying to get the picture perfect finish of the most vile person on the planet at the time

Michael Johnson vs Poirier was really, really good also.

Lyoto Machida vs Rashad Evans
Anderson Silva vs anyone before Chris Weidman
still thinking of 3rd one
